BIG WINNERS:
Avalanche:getting Kaspar will be huge.He will fit in like a glove with Foote, Blake, Skoula, etc.Them picking up a d-man and not a center means Forsberg could come back in the playoffs.IF he does, they will be dangerous.
Oilers:they need another scoring winger and they got a great one.York will look great with the Oil and should provide excellent 2 line production with a guy like Hecht. They still need a 2nd line center, but maybe York will be moved there...still, having Comrie, York, Marchant down the middle is pretty risky. To conclude, giving up guys who were contributing nothing(Poti and Murray) for a guy who can be a very good player in this league is a great move. The Oil have enough depth on defence(Brewer, Niinimaa, Smith, Staios, Ferguson...probably that Semenov kid will be there next year) to make a deal like this.
Capitals:They now have 3 first round picks and a super prospect in goal.Imagine how bright their future would be if they still had Beech and Sivek! I think we will see a massive retooling job there. The model they had now simply didn't work.
Thrashers:OMG, anyone see their deal with the Yotes? they traded Hordichuck(a goon) and a 5th rounder for a solid D prospect who is like 21 (Kiril Safronov) and another solid prospect(Ruslan Zainullin, they got him in the Bulin wall deal). They flat out robed them.
