For God knows what reason I am giving Therrien the benefit of the doubt. Dykhuis must have some small, nagging injury and that's why he's sitting. Either that or someone has expressed interest in Traverse for a 6th rounder or something and wants to see him play first (but this is almost too bizarre to believe). You're in a playoff race and struggling, you're against a tough opponent with some physical and speedy forwards, so the obvious thing to do is sit the guy who may be your steadiest defenceman. That's Therrien's M.O., but he's still entitled to the presumption of innocence.

Traverse tried to blow the game for us, twice. But he did make some plays. I can only fathom that someone is interested or why play him?
BTW, maybe this game will break the 3rd period jinx of late.

Therrien was quoted as saying that Dykhuis didn`t play very well the previous game and that`s why he sat.
I`m not saying Therrien is logical or consistent, now, just reporting what I`ve read. Just so`s you don`t get agitated at me. By the way Traverse was even tonight, on for a goal each way. Played about as much as Markov at 16:40.
