According to the Tean 1050 the Habs maybe be looking at acquiring Dave Andrechuk with belief he still has some goals left in his stick.
What do you guys think at least he goes to the net and would come cheap.Andrechuk is 38yrs old.

Please, no I can hear the Leaf fans laughing already. In theory it's an idea to place him in front of the net during the powerplay but is Savard not watching our games. We can't get control in the offensive end during the powerplay to allow him to setup. Watch our pp's tonight. Teams just force the play, no one plays a passive box against us because they know we can't complete 2 or 3 passes.

Frankly, isn't Andreychuck a guy that would fit in nicely? His salary is almost all paid for, he doesn't have a contract for next year, his type of play would fit right in our boring system and the guy would just park his big butt near the net during PP to collect rebounds, something nobody on this team can do since Audette went down.
I don't like the guy, but he could help. And IMO, now that we've dedicated this year to makin' the playoffs, it's not time to change course and pretend we want to devellop youngsters with 16 games left. The team needs a push to realize it's goal this year and Savard must react.

Sounds like just more trash off another team's scrap heap. I think he is done. Deals like this is not what we need
I would bring Mike McPhee out of retirement before I would trade for Andreychuk.

I agree Doc.The risk is minimal.He will be gone next year, he won't cost us anything of value, most of his salary has been paid and he can park his butt in front of the net on the PP.

IF we played a quick, transition, exciting, fast pace game, I would agree, no need for Andreychuk, but we don't and we need a great PP to score goals.Andreychuk can help the PP. Hey, if it helps get rid of Patrick Traverse, I am all for it ;D |
