I was just thinking about our upcoming games...I honestly think we need to beat Florida, Tampa and the Pens TWICE. And also win againt Columbus. That's 14 points right there and games we should win (why do I have the feeling that'll never happen) We also need to take points from Carolina in at least 1 of the 2 games. As for Jersey, we'll probably end up losing that 1...and as for right now, the way I see it, Buffalo looks to be as big as last night's game...assuming of course we're even in the race long enough for the last game of the season to even count. Of course you have to keep in mind 2 years ago where it did and we blew it against Ottawa and it was Buffalo that got in...the next 16 games have the potencial to be a pretty exciting ride, especially with the April 1st return date of Audette. This is just like the playoffs when you think about it. I mean if they don't make the playoffs and least make it exciting untill the very end unlike last year when were already mathematically out of it by this time.

Problem is, we have been saying all year we should beat those teams. And most of the time we haven't done it.We have blown plenty of points on teams like TB,FLA,etc.

Well, not to put too fine a point on it but I haven't been among the we who have been saying all year that we should beat those teams. Rather I'm the old curmudgion who has been saying all along that we were not likely going to make it; too inconsistent, not enough talent, poor coaching.
I'm afraid I'm still being negative, hope I'm proved wrong, but if I were a betting man I'd still put my money on somebody else. I think that the last two spots will go to the Devils and the Caps.
Other views on who the last two will be?

HabWest, The Caps have an 8 game road trip coming up soon starting in San Jose( I think). My thought is that after that trip, Washington's playoff chances will be greatly reduced.

Buffalo (4/13) looks to be as big as last night's game...assuming of course we're even in the race long enough for the last game of the season to even count. I hope this one counts because I'm going to be at that game and would love the playoff-like atomosphere to watch it in. ;D
