I don't see the Habs making any significant trades before the deadline. There really does not seem to be anything interesting out there. In the offseason the Habs need to find some size up front. With Koivu and Audette back next season there should be enough guys with skill some size and grit would be great. In the past few years the losses of Stevenson, Thornton and players like that have effected the play on the road.

We need to solve the power forward problem once and for all IMO.

I'll be surprised if the Habs make any moves also, what do we have to ofeer and dumping kids or picks to sneak in makes no sense.Like Johnny V said Savard has upgraded the team with by dumping 2 lines worth of AHL players with NHL calibre players.I like everyone else are so passionate about the Habs that I curse at every lost point because I want them to win. Even though it will hurt bad I think if we look at the whole picture things are definetly better than they were.Saku Koivu may not be the best player in tyhe league but he is the straw that stirs up our forwards. While at the game Saturday I was thinking what position would the Leafs be without Mats Sundin. Teams can lose key players but when they lose their leader it is almost imposiible for them to play to their potential. That being said if we blow anymore points I'm sure you'll hear me screaming what the @*#@!*! If all that's out there is crap off somebody's else scrap heap. Then it makes no sense in making deals. We've made too many deals throwing away draft picks and picking up junk now.
If we trade anymore picks or prospects, we need quality in return.

HFTO That's the problem. I am tired of the excuses, I am tired of hearing the injuries are a factor. That shouldn't change the fact, moronic coaching decisions and blowing huge leads, have cost us ARGUABLY 10 points this year. I agree we are better off than we were last year, but I still get the feeling we try to play too much like we did last year or the year before.Back then, our roster was filed with defensive minded players, there wasno choice but to play a defensive minded game. But now, we have more skill, why not take advantage of it?

I'm tired of the excuses also but you have to take baby steps before you can run,but that being said its clearly obvious that this kitty by the barn style is doing nothing but putting undue pressure on Jose Theodore.I'd much rather go down fighting than laying down for the other teams. How would you like to be Theodore knowing he can't make one mistake and thats pretty tough when you know your going to get 35-40 shots and your team on most nights barely gets 20.If I was on the opposing team I'd be licking my chops. Most goalies in the league have a 90% save percetage so you'd think somebody could figure out the math. Its time to utilize what speed this team has rather than neutralizing it with a trap style of game, one way or another Theodore's gonna face 40 shots with this team so we may as well and try to get 30 and let the chips fall where they may. If we had won last night, I would have expected AS to be a buyer. Now, I'm not so sure. If we are trying for the playoffs, though there are only a couple of players I would look at with my number 1 prerequisite being they aren't short term answers.
1. Grant Marshall RW 6'1 200lbs 28years old 64GP 14G 13a -9 174 Hits He's on the block according to the Sun. Physical RW we need. His years in Dallas have taught him defense.
2. Geoff Sanderson LW 6'0 190lbs 30 years old 30GP 6G 5a -9 I believe he's a restricted free agent after the season. Very similar to Audette and we seen how he jumpstarted our offence.
These two players plus Columbus's situation make them an ideal candidate for a trading partner. It shouldn't take a lot for both...Asham or Ward plus a mid level prospect.

I can't remember where I saw it but someone mentioned a couple of DMen to the Islanders for Isbister and the Polish Prince Czerkawski. I think this would be a great move for us:
I would trade Berezin, Rivet and Souray for these two boys....
Isbister:
Brad Isbister Right Wing Height 6-4 Weight 230
Czerkawski:
Mariusz Czerkawski Right Wing Height 6-0 Weight 200 Shoots Right
They are both somewhat big guys and that's what we need.
after you make this move you would have these lines ( Just throwing names together of course)
Zednick Gilmour Petrov Isbister Perreault Czerkawski Bullis Juneau Dackall Kilger Van Allen Asham
Brisebois Hainsey Markov Quintal Robidas Dykhuis
Theodore Garon

Bob, Goeff is not a good player. The only thing he has is speed, but he feeds of peoples work. Berezin like. Yes, I know he scored 30, 3 years ago, but we need more size and grit. Besides, I think he is UFA.
