Hi guys,
I had a great weekend in Montreal. I am writing this on six hours sleep over the weekend. Anyways, I saw the game live and I have to tell you, I came away very depressed.
Most of you hit it bang on with your comments but live it was a travesty, with a few exceptions. Why was Asham not out there more? At least he tried to get the team out of its coma. This team should be hungry but skated like they were going for a liesurely stroll out on the canal. No effort whatsoever. The lack of passion or drive certainly played its way out in virtually every battle for the puck along the boards. The Leafs had a field day with us on the boards.
Has anyone noticed in the last few weeks the amount of faceoffs we are losing, especially in our zone? Unless they do a complete 360 in terms of effort, we will drop like a stone in the standings. Jose Theodore is a godsend, without him, were dead. His save on the 2 on 1 was absolutely amazing.
I'm truly disappointed in their lack of effort. Could it be that are getting worn down? I would really like to believe this, rather than what looks like the obvious.
