Keep in mind I'm only 36 years old.
Greatest Player-Wayne Gretzky, more assists than any other player has points, 11 straight years of 100 assists and 892 goals.
Most talented offensively- Mario Lemieux, combination of size and hands.
My favorite player- Guy LaFleur, smoothest player I've ever seen, looked like a Greek God on the ice.
Most Exciting player- Dennis Savard, in his prime you held your breath every time he touched the puck.
Best all around d-man- Bobby Orr but I never saw him play, so I'll say Dennis Potvin, he had the stongest wrist shot I've ever seen and was great a being able to clear the puck with those strong hands.
Best offensive d-man- Paul Coffey, 48 goals one season need I say more.
Best defensive d-man- Scott Stevens, I did not see enought of Larry Robinson
Slapshot from the point- Doug Wilson with honorable mention to Reed Larson.
Hardest slap shot- Al McGinnis with honorable mention to Al Iafrate
Most accurate slapshot- Guy Lafleur, down the right wing along the ice and in the net.
Best Wrist shot- Mike Bossy sniper, sniper sniper
Best goalie- Patrick Roy, I have never seen anyone in any sport with more desire to win than St. Patrick
I would be interested to hear some of your picks Later All!

26 and 36? Good God, have you guys lost your baby teeth yet? Why, I remember when Joliat would fly down the wing or Vezina would make another immpossible stop, those where the days my freinds, when man where man, goaltenders had 106 stitches on their faces. Before dem commies and Euro'flatulence. Ahh..........faded memories.........
Greatest player - Wayne Gretzky, yup he was. Most talented offensively - Mario Lemieux, huge reach and great vision.
Most exciting player - Guy Lafleur, when he was on the ice, it was electric. At his prime, he manufactured goals out of thin air. Flowing hair, streaking down the wing, ahhh.........
Best all around D man - Bobby Orr. My God did this guy have vision. Imagine a bigger version of Gretzky with an edge on him. His skating was remarkable, his acceleration and stopping was way more then human knees can take. Honourable mention. Big Bird.
Hardest slapshot - Bobby Hull. In a test conducted in the seventies, Hulls slap shot was timed at 121 miles per hour. 121! Compare that to Mac's 104. When Hull wound up, goalies would run behind the net, honest. Lemaire was in the top 10.
Best wrist shot - Bobby Hull. 107 miles per hour. Beliveau was in the top 10.
Fastest skater. Bobby Hull, 32.3 mph Cournoyer was in the top 10.
Fastest skater with the puck. Bobby Hull, 29+mph with the puck.
Best goalie - Patrick Roy, what can you say about Mr. Wink, he is the best I have ever seen. Honourable mention, Maritimer.
Best fighter- John Furgeson. He was not the biggest, he was not the strongest, but, NO ONE pushed around the Habs's when he played. He was well balanced, with a strong upper body which allowed him to hold on to the local goon and delivered ferocious blow to the head. None of this namby'pamby push'me push'you thingy's. He once broke Bobby Hulls jaw just to keep him out of the playoffs. No goon would ever come to the Forum without his Medicare paid up.
Honourable mention must go to Big Bird, he ended Dave "The Hammer" Shultz career. Back then, in the prehistoric times, Philly build a team purely for intimidation. Not one player other then Bobby Clarke was good enough to play for the Hab's. Philly had assembled the most goons and plumers the hockey world had ever seen and the number one "enforcer" was The Hammer. Well, one preseason game, Bowman put together his own version of nastiness and needless to say, a fight of all fights broke out. Who does The Mighty Hammer dance with? None other then Big Bird. weeeell, Larry beat Shultz so bad that he never ever was the same again. rom then on in, Shultz was known as the Little Rubber Mallet and Larry? Opposing forwards would request visitors permit to go into the Habs zone, unless of course they had a dire need to visit the local hospital.
The greatest NHL team? Da '76 Hab's. The ONLY current player that could make it on that team is Saku. Maybe.
Team Awards:
* Prince of Wales Trophy
Individual Awards:
* Hart Trophy: Guy Lafleur * Norris Trophy: Larry Robinson * Art Ross Trophy: Guy Lafleur * Vezina Trophy : Ken Dryden & Michel Larocque * Conn Smythe Trophy: Guy Lafleur * Jack Adams Award: Scotty Bowman
1976/77 All Stars
First Team: Ken Dryden, Larry Robinson, Guy Lafleur, Steve Shutt Second Team: Guy Lapointe
Participants in the 1976/77 NHL All Star Game played at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver
* Ken Dryden, Larry Robinson, Serge Savard, Guy Lapointe, Guy Lafleur, Bob Gainey, Scotty Bowman
Now you know why I am an HAB's ADDICT.
If you can excuse me now, I need to take my morning nappy, us OLD people need a rest after sooo much work.

From 36 to 26 to....16 years old ;D
I have been following hockey since 1991:
Greatest player:Mario Lemieux(didn't see Gretz during the Oil years)
Most talented offensively:Mario Lemieux(and I saw the bad back, cancer and on the verge of retirement version!)
My favorite player: Patrick Roy until 1995...no one else since
Most exciting player:Saku Koivu before his torn ACL or MCL against the Hawks in 1996.He was spectacular.
Best all-around d-man:Chris Pronger...guys who can play 35 minutes per game like it was nothing earn my respect.
Best offensive d-man:Al MacInnis. Not only his great shot...but what a passer!
Best defensive d-man:Scott Stevens...terrific physical d-man who was and still is a horse
Slapshot from the point:Sergei Gonchar.Probably not the hardest one, but always on goal and sooo accurate.
Hardest slapshot from the point:Al MacInnis...his shot broke the hands of Chris Osgood and Jocelyn Thibeault!
Most accurate slapshot:Sergei Gonchar...honorable mention to Ray Bourque and to Paul Kariya
Best wrist shot:Joe Sakic...see his shot against Brodeur on Monday? wow
Best goalie: Patrick Roy..regardless of where he played!
Best 2 way forward:Mike Modano...this guy could have a few 100 points seasons if it wasn't for the Stars terrible system. But, he sucked it up and learned how to play defence to help his team.
Strongest player:Jaromir Jagr....when he is on, no one can stop him.He is just sooo huge and strong.
