At the end of the 1st Phoenix is leading the Devils 2-0 and the Wild are all over "yes I got another cross checking penalty" Theo Fleury and his Rangers at the start of the third. If these keep up we are in position to be 2 points clear of NYR in 8th with 2 games in hand and only 1 point behind New Jersey with a game in hand. I hope Therien is ready to start the RIGHT lineup tomorrow as well as being ready to pull Hackett at the FIRST sign of unsteadiness regardless of what the score is. Everyone else is doing what they can to help us out...now it's our turn!

Well, according to Juneau, the scare against Atlanta was due to the players getting away from the game plan and thinking that they were the 70's Habs reincarnated so they could just go out and score, score, score! And forget about playing all out defence. Petrov said the same.
Which is my long winded way of saying that the results tomorrow will depend as much on the players as on Therrien. If they aren't motivated now to play as hard as they can they never will be. And they gotta know that they're not going to win a shoot out against the Bruins.
As for replacing Hackett at the first sign of unsteadiness, following up on something WhyteKnight mentioned, since the Olympic break Theo has lost 2 of 3 and allowed 12 goals in so doing. That's 4 GAA a game and I recollect one or two that he probably wished he had back. It makes you wonder if the layoff did him more harm than good.

We are the masters of our own destiny as we have two games in hand on NYR. A start like Monday with tenacious forechecking, shooting often and go, go, go to the net may not have us up 3-0 but is the only way to get on the scoresheet first. The Bruins are a solid team; but they are not the same with Joe Thornton out of the lineup. They can be beaten tonight. We can win this with 60-65 minutes of focussed, minimal screw up hockey. Of course it's up to the players, however, which players it is up to depends on what Therrien puts in his coffee today (or maybe he pulls his Ouiji board). However he comes up with tonight's lineup I hope re realizes the importance of this game to get us within 1 point of the Devils the media has been saying is pulling away from us. Get some cheerleader outfits for the softies who won't check anyone, get the more skilled bangers, passers and scorers out there and have the girls (not a slag; only that there is no intentional checking in the women's game) cheer from the pressbox. There is only one game out of the next 20 that is critically important - the next game. It'll be that way until April 13th. GO HABS GO!!
