I just noticed some of the names that have been put on waivers over the last 18 months.
Daniel Briere Phil Housley Karl Dyhkuis Rico Fata Steve Sullivan Chris Osgood
To name a few just off the top of my head. There are some pretty good players in there. Changes my opinion on how valuable the waiver wire is

Robert Lang was picked up on waivers too.
By the way,we picked up Dykhuis at the start of the 1999-2000 season...which would make it almost 30 months.

As I recall, we got Dykhuis for future considerations..... not waivers. Seems like splitting hairs, but it's very likely Dykhuis was part of the Recchi deal in some way.
In any case, wasn't waivers.

Dykhuis shouldn't had been included. He is not the player the rest are. I checked his stats and he hasn't recorded a point in 17 games(excluding Atlanta game) and the worse +/- of our defensemen in that time frame. He looked like he was asleep for the Canes fourth goal Saturday night.
I wonder if there is a website that keeps track of all waiver wire transactions? The players above were just ones I could remember so I am thinking there could be many more good ones to go thru waivers. Thanks
