Atlanta has just scored to make it 3-2. Terrible effort. Montreal being outplayed heavily in the 2nd period by Atlanta. Another bad line change results in 2nd Atlanta goal. This is a nightmare. This team is sleepwalking. Not a good feeling about the 3rd period.

Lets hope that wakes the boys up.

Forgive me oh Rocket, but a loss might be a blessing in disguise as it should spell the final demise of Therrien. Please make it so!
Sick to my stomache,

From the effort given out in the last few games, I think the players have quit on Therrien. When that happens it really is fruitless to keep the coach dangling. Problem is, this may not be an ideal time. (I mean only that the preferred coach may not be immediately available right now) Now we'll see if Andre has been doing his homework.
Quintal has been on the ice for 5 goals. Amazing huh? Perhaps the guys Therrien has been playing (inexplicably, in our eyes) are the guys he knows are loyal to him. That explains a lot. Think of the guys he doesn't play, or whose play has really diminished in the last couple of months. I can't recall them all, but he doesn't play Asham much, he plays Quintal, Traverse, Robidas and Bouillon. Markov sits, Ribeiro gets thrown all over the place....yes, I think that may be it.

MT must have photos or video of AS with someone/thing. Maybe AS is working on a deal at the GM meetings of the ilk that sent Michel Bergeron to New York in a trade (if my memory serves me correctly . Espescially when they are aware NYR lost tonight. Time for a beer.

That was WAY closer than it should have been. WAY closer.
If we were playing a better team than Atlanta, we don't win this game. Cripes, even at the end there I thought they were going to tie it up.
I don't get this team.

... then I release Therrien and bring back Pat Burns for the rest of the season. We all know that Burn is particularly good during the first few months. If he refuses, give the job to Carbonneau. This team was in a favorable position to make the playoffs, we got lucky tonight because we stunk in the last 50 minutes.
Second, an old debate that I never forgot... I would be ready to part with Theodore in order to bring an impact player up front. He's the only asset we have that could land us an productive forward. It's a gamble, but I believe Hackett still has another 2 years as a solid no 1 and with Garon, Tarasov and Michaud in the system, we're really ok in goal. I know it's not a good marketing move but it all depends on who comes back our way... A young all-star for another young all-star, I just don't know if there is a market for such a swap... Theodore for Gagne (is Chechmanek seriously hurt ? because Boucher is really struggling)

This Therrian talk reminds me a lot of what happened to Calgary last year with Don Hay. The players basically ignored him. They brought in Gilbert and they shiped out the bad apples. Valerina Bure being the worst in that department. He used to play for Montreal, what do you guys think of him?
Ken Hitchcock is available - would you be interested in him as the Habs coach?

Flamesfan, first of all, welcome to the board, second thing, hopefully the Flames are back on track and they can make it in the playoffs.By the way a big thank you for the win against the Rangers.Do the same against Washington please Personally,I don't want Hitch.I have had it with defensive minded hockey.Hitch is a defensive minded coach and I am sure he would play a more conservative brand of hockey. This team needs a coach who will see the potential(next year when Saku and Audette will be back) for a speedy, skilled, fast team. Not a team that has to play the trap to win. As for the game tonight.Eeesh.Brutal.It's come to the point where I don't want the Habs to take a 2-3 goal lead.Another thing, funny how our team has stunk ever since MT put Traverse and Quintal on the ice with a 2-2 tie and 30 seconds to go against the Wings...I wonder what Gilmour and other veteran players thought of that move...
