Mario Lemieux out for the year, Mark Messier out for the year, Theo Fleury back to his normal melt-down mode, Martin Straka out for an extended period, Curtis Joseph out for an extended period, Alex Mogilny out for an extended period, Dmitri Yuskevich out for the year, a market for Jeff Hackett suddenly opening up, the easiest section of our schedule coming up, new money being found for the team, Saku Koivu in full remission... Have the ghosts finally found their way to their new digs? Did they get tired of having to beat down all those rock climbers at the old forum? Could it be, is it possible, concievable, maybe, perhaps, we might, just maybe, have a little bit of luck on our sides now? With Pittsburgh and Buffalo rapidly falling out of contention (both are now 7 points back, with many teams in front of them), is it safe to say that the race for the final playoff spot is down to the Habs, the Rangers and the Capitals/Hurricanes (whichever one doesn't win the division) ? The path is far from being an easy one just yet, but if we can put together a good streak heading into the trade deadline, I like our chances. Of course, now that I have said that they will probably lose six in a row.

I think it was the new coaxial cable that Bell ran into the Molson Centre which allowed them to email the ghosts on over! The Devils aren't lockin either...but are getting closer. They have responded reasonably well under Constantine & Robinson again The Caps are toast and so are the Rangers. its all in Les Boys hands now. This will be the true test of Jose Theodore. Yes the games counted before the break but now the really count My question is when do we start loading up? Why aren't we bidding on Kasper or Slegr?

Washington's chances of making the playoffs are next to zero. they play 10 of 15 games in March on the road and start an 8 game road trip out west in the middle of this month. In NY, Messier is probably out for the rest of the season and it looks as if Fleury has lost all of his marbles. Unless Lindros can pull a huge rabbit out of his hat I can't see how the Rangers can hope to hold even with the Habs for the rest of the season. With luck Montreal can pull ahead of NJD and even 6th place isn't out of reach. Cross you fingers everybody - it finally looks like playoff hockey is back in Montreal!

BC you maybe right we certainly have our fate in our own hands and thats what you want with the exception of Toronto and Boston you may want to throw Dallas in there the Habs have very winable games all month.Taking a glance at the next 15 games it would be very disappointing not to see them in the post season. Now if we could learn to clear our own zone we may go undefeated. It's up to this team.Rangers are looking terrible,Pitt and Buffalo seem dead, the Caps have that terrible schedule, etc. We are in control of our own destiny.

Optimism abounds....and I almost always play Devil's Advocate. ÊWhat do all our competitors have going for them that we don't? ÊMichel Therrien, that's what. ÊI can't feel comfortable until he's flipping burgers at Mickey D's. Ê
