Am I the only one who is sick of the US of A thinking that the world revolves around them? I remember spending some time in europe in 98 and listening to many people say how they didn't like the US and when i said i was canadian they were much friendlier.
You have to wonder about a country that focuses so internally, and wants to bully every country that doesn't fit into their idea of a model government. They couldn't care less about the environment, are the most out of shape obese people in the world, have the most money and give the least to help the starving of the world.
Why am i on this rant you ask? The canadian flag on the american womens hockey team floor. Can you imagine if we would have done that?!?
I've taken many trips to the us and have been astounded at the lack of intelligence of many of the people i've met. I love getting an american with the quick trivia question, how many states start with the letter M. The answer is 8, but i have yet to find one that can name more than 4.
I met a guy in vegas last year, and he was 35 and all he could name was minnesota and he was from chicago and had been there his whole life.
An american is running the nhl, and running it into the ground, stripping it of the most important part of it, the canadian teams.
Another thing that pisses me off is how they know little to nothing of anything outside of their own borders. I remember playing in a little league tournament that was a 4 hour drive from my hometown in washington state. Every year we went down there we'd tell the other teams stories about playing on ice and how our star player got eaten by a polar bear that came out of the ice once when he was sliding into 2nd base.
The sad part is is that every one of them believed it to be true.
Is it just me or does the superioritiy of the americans seem to be doing the world a lot of hurt and little good?
How many times do we have to watch george bush with that smirk on his face like 9/11 is the best thing to happen to him as a president. He has this cheezy grin in every speech he does now like he thinks he has every american under his thumb and he can do no wrong no matter what he does.
Sad part is, its probably true.
There are 5.5 billion non americans on this planet, and it'd be nice to think that they mattered as much as they do.
Ha not likely EH?
