As much as I am enjoying the Olympic tournament, I have a gapping hole where my Habs belong. There are several things I look forward to when the NHL returns to it's regular schedule. First of all, I am really looking forward to watching our big pus for the playoffs. I think for the first time in four years, we have a real chance at causing some major damage. The best place for us to finish would be in sixth. That would most likely get us Carolina in the first round. Now as much as I would love to see Toronto or Boston in the playoffs, I would prefer Carolina in the first round for obvious reasons. Secondly, I am really looking forward to going into a post season push in relatively good health. Sure, Saku and Audette are out. So is Souray, but that is a hell of alot better than what we have had to deal with in recent memory. Thanks to Andre Savard we have the deapth to make up for injuries for the first time in years. Last, but not least, I am looking forward to the trading deadline. Who will be moved, who will be brought in. Can we get a second first round pick three years in a row? How about Jeff Hackett? I think we will get a pretty good clue to Hacks future by seeing how much he plays after the break. If we see alot of him, In my opinion, it will be to showcase him and try to get his trade value back up to where it should be. Thanks for reading. I would love to hear what you guys are looking forward to.
I'M OUT!

I think for the first time in a while Montreal might be a buyer at the trade deadline, instead of a seller. We might be the team picking up the experienced, proven NHLer for the young kid, instead of the other way around. I would think Markov might be the bait being dangled, perhaps for somebody like Kaspiritus or Svehla (in a package I would suppose).
Unless there is an injury to another goalie (which is possible) I think Hackett will stay. And that's all right by me.

Hi Bad Company. I agree with you completely about Hackett. I would not mind keeping him at all. I think he may have been a major factor in the success Theodore has had over the last couple years. I believe he has many years left in him before his tank runs dry. However, I think if he is going to be traded, it will likely be on or before the deadline simply because we have to many goalies. Either Hack or Garon will be moved. Likely to bring in a defenceman as you say or perhaps a guy like Victor Kozlov who has planted himself firmly in Mike Keenan's doghouse. I can see a Hackett and Rivet + for Svehla and Trevor Kidd deal.
