Five more greats join the VIAGRA Legends of Hockey

MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation announced Wednesday that 31 players have confirmed their participation in the VIAGRA Legends of Hockey Classic, a hockey game featuring Canadiens alumni and several NHL Hall-of-Famers that will be held at the Bell Centre on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.
Since the game’s official introduction on March 9, five additional players have joined the event. Pete Mahovlich, Rod Langway and Shayne Corson were added to the Canadiens Alumni team, while the Legends of hockey have confirmed the addition of Hall-of-Famers Bernie Federko and Denis Potvin. A trade was also made as Lucien DeBlois, Gilbert Delorme and Marc Bureau were sent from the Canadiens Alumni to the Legends of hockey in return for Denis Savard and Craig Ludwig.
Michel Bergeron and Jacques Demers will act as head coaches for the respective teams. Bobby Hull and Frank Mahovlich will serve as ambassadors. Denis Morel and Ron Fournier will be the game’s officials. The hockey personalities involved in this classic hockey game have collectively won 59 Stanley Cups and played over 34,000 NHL games.
All ticket proceeds from the VIAGRA Legends of Hockey Classic will go directly to the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation. Tickets to the VIAGRA Legends of Hockey Classic are available at a cost of $10 and $15 at the Bell Centre Box Office and through the Admission network by calling (514) 790-1245 or 1-800-361-4595, or visiting admission.com. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $100, a cost which includes a premium seat and a skating session with some of the hockey legends in the afternoon.
