I watched one of the greatest moments in canadian olympic history as sale and pelletier skated their hearts out and skated perfectly.
I'm not a fan of figure skating but as a red blooded canadian i had my heart into their skate and know that their hearts are shattered because of idiotic judging. It's one thing to skate badly (browning) and lose, its another to win and have the best skate only to get robbed by biased humans...
Alright, that felt good, go canada go!
PS I'm already sick of the americans and their athletes while being amateurs being superior to our canadians because of all the money that is poured into their training. The Olympics are no longer a true amateur sport, money wins just like in anything else.

First off, before I go any futher... If money wins, then why is the US tied with Germany for the lead in gold medals. Why did Hackel (who had his luge sleigh designed by Porsche) not get the gold. Simple answer? Because although money helps, it can not replace raw skill. Ask the New York Ranger's about that one.
Now, about that skate last night.... I've been keeping myself busy the last two or three days with studies and assignments (I've a midterm in math in an hour) but I made sure to schedule my life around the olympics. Including last nights event. I'm disgusted, dismayed and a whole lot of other adjectives that have been replaced in my short term memory with integral and p-series's. However - I think Jamie Pellitier put it best when he said that if he wanted to be treated differently he would have put on skies and "went down the hill".
It's fitting. We lose. So what? I think everyone in that arena (excluding the Russian coach - but including the gold medal winners - did anyone see their faces on the podium?) knows who really won last night. Who the real gold medalists are. And knowledge is power - who gives a rats ass about what the French judge said. I'm sure it hurts to see four years of work ripped away by an moron - but it's one of those roadbumps in life. Meanwhile the Russian winners are fending off a hungry Russian press (who make the Montreal Press look like angels BTW) dealing with their own scandals.
Speaking of Browning - does anyone remember a movement after he lost to melt down a bunch of gold jewelry donated by Canadians to make him his own gold medal? Does anyone remember if that worked, and if so - perhaps we could do the same for our 'golden' (regardless of what anyone else says) pair.

The question I want to know is why do bargain basement countries like Poland and Ukraine have judges? why 3 former Soviet Union countries represented? I hate sports that our 'judged'. Man,all this heartbreak just gets to you .Losing the game with 14 seconds to go because of incompetence, seeing a terrific performance like that one go to waste because of dumb*** judges who are corrupt and if you go back,6 weeks ago, seeing a damn ref missing the net being dislodged TWICE in the last 10 seconds of a goal medal game. It's up to our hockey's team to get us back on the gold medal track
