Apparently after the Patrick Traverse injury the Canadiens were going to replace the rock hard seamless glass with the moveable type we see in many of the U.S. arenas. When I heard this I was happy to see that the organization was going to take action and lead the charge in addressing the situation, however a decision this week came down and the change over will not be done until seasons end.Instead the club will try and lossen the boards.Obviously I don't know what the schedule is for Molson centre events nor do I know how fast a change over can be done but knowing full well of the down time in the next few weeks my first reaction was that the clubs reaction is bush league.Am I wrong here the cost is $65000 seemingly modest if it is going to help this clubs injury situation. Am I over reacting, does anyone care? HFTO

I believe this should be a priority for our management to deal with this issue. No matter what the cost is!!! We are losing WAY TOO MANY players to injuries. We led the League 2 years in a row in man-games lost and we are quickly catching up on the leader this year. As of the Jan 25th injury report, we were 4th with 174 man-games missed, behind Atlanta (175), Florida (194) and Minnesota (182). Worst of it is, these stats DO NOT, for some reason, include the 54 games that Koivu has missed. Add those and we are once again the leader!!!
I would not think the cost would be a factor in their decision. I think they just don't have the time to do it during the season. The schedule AFTER the Olympics is very compressed, if I remember correctly. Also, I am not sure if they would have enough time during the Olympic break to do all the work. Furthermore, they may not have had enough lead-time since their decision to acquire the new boards/system. After all, they do need the materials in order to do the changes...
Cheers!
