What's the scoop on this guy? We drafted him, he is among the OHL scoring leaders along with his teammate and another Habs prospect Haminelfab (sp?). Now, he is no longer a Habs property, is he going back into the draft this year. another Mike van Ryan or Kyle Wanving. We still need to trade for a physical center or at least draft one this year. Go Andre Go!

For whatever reason, Savard chose not to sign him this summer. Whether that meant Jamieson's agent was asking too much, or Savard had lost interest, only André knows that for sure.
Either way, he's a free-agent right now, with the right to re-enter the draft if he wants. He's having an excellent year, and I'd bet on him re-entering the draft in an attempt to go higher this time (thus raising his potential salary). This 6'2" LW got 36 goals and 80 points in 52 games with Sarnia. His teammate, the much smaller but feisty Eric Himelfarb, is also having a good season with 32 goals and 71 points in 51 games.
I was disappointed to see that Savard hadn't signed Jamieson by the deadline, but I've also got faith in the him. He's all about youth and talent evaluation, so if he felt that Jamieson either wasn't worth the money he was asking or didn't fit in this organisation, I'll just have to accept his judgement on that. Hopefully, he's right again, but Jamieson looks like a pretty decent young hockey player.
