Of all the Habs currently playing elsewhere, the "ex-Hab" that I like to see back the most is..........drum rolll..........John Leclair. We need a sniper up front with size and he fits the bill to a tee. Granted, he needs a center that can pass him the puck and help him cycle down low, but the boy can score 30 without any help. Unfortunatly, it appears that he has a bit of a motivational problem. Ever since Lindros left, he has not been the same. Recchi would of been my first choice if he was a bit younger. There you have it, my single, precious thought for the day....... P.S. If, somehow, I can pull a trick out of my smelly socks, the player currently in the NHL that I like to have now is Joe Thornton. Followed by Kovolchuck. I watched Kovo the other night playing the Leafs, he has more moves then a Harlem break dancer. Why am I dreaming about other teams players? If I close my eyes, I can see it now.....Komi to Hainsey to Hossa....scoooooores!!!!!!!!!! Okaaayyy, back to the rubber room....

I hope for you sakes you meant JOE Thornton and not that bum SCOTT.
As for the former Hab I want back the most.My choice would also be Leclair.I wouldn't say he has had motivational problems since the Big E has left.Last year he was injured, this year he has really come on strong recently.

Its a tossup between Gilbert Dionne & Stephan Lebeau
I think Chris Chelios could bring a lot to the blueline if he was 2 years younger....to show Markov & Hainsey the ropes & the bars. ;D

Stephane Richer, Ha, LOL. I'm really just kidding. Pierre Turgeon or Donald Brashear I would bring back.

Thornton (Scott); Cullimore; Recchi; Turgeon; Tucker; Conroy; Damphousse....the list goes on. But if I had to choose one guy, considering age and position and salary, it'd be Pierre Turgeon. Boy, you really need the hubs for the spokes to have any value....

P. Turgeon the Hub is a wise choice. If Turgeon was one time more UFA today, where would he go?
For me, I pick Zubrus (assuming since this is hypothetical there is no connection about the players who came our way). He's young and much upside to discover with his size and skill.
Plenty of other good players come to mind. If age were no object, clones of C. Lemieux and Corson would certainly add presence to our small lineup.
Well, at least we do not talk about this topic as much as the past two years. Savard gives us less reason to.

My choice would be Darcy Tucker without a shadow of a doubt.
He's young, he's tough, he shows up everynight, he's very successful in the post-season.
We made a tremendous mistake by not paying more attention to this guy's potential and we are paying it right now.
We have in Arron Asham the kind of player that Tucker is.. gritty, talented, dedicated, tough etc. I just hope we won't screw everything with Asham like we did with Darcy...
The second Hab that I would take would be Mark Recchi or Donald Brashear.
I'm not very attracted anymore by Leclair or Turgeon.. since the first has a back problem that can give up at any time and the second one's weaknesses represent exactly ours in offense.

Speaking of a guy we gave up on,how about Craig Conroy? this guy is producing at close to a point per game pace,is pretty big,is great defensively. He is considered by many a poor man's version of Peca.Heck,I consider him just as good as Peca.
I still can't believe Foule gave up Turgeon AND Conroy for Corson.Conroy has been better than Corson by a mile, and I am not even talking about Turgeon who was great in STL.The day that trade was made,I was soooooooo mad.

I'm with Habsolutely. I can't believe they gave up on Tucker after the success he had in Junior and in the AHL:
- Lead his team to two Memorial Cups (MVP of one of them) - Put up huge offensive numbers in the WHL (130-140 point seasons) - Rookie of the year in his only AHL season
Now he's third in Leafs scoring while maintaining a reputation as one of the best agitators in the NHL. I'd love to have that combination of grit and offense on the Habs.

I think I'd go with LeClair right now, with honourable mention to Recching Ball.
