Doug Gilmour racked up 18 points in 15 games in January, including a game winner and 2 game tying goals. It would be a travesty of justice if he weren't at least considered for player of the month honours for January.
There may be players out there who have outscored him this month, but for a guy who supposedly considered retirement at Christmas and who most people had written off in November, this is quite an accomplishment.
Way to go Dougie!

I will say it again, but it's amazing how he has gone from looking terrible to looking great.Let's hope it continues.Although you have to wonder if with the ice time he is getting,he will still have something left in the tank at the end of the year.

Well, Markus Naslund was the winner of this particular honour, and rightfully so with 8 goals and 13 assists in 14 games. What a tear!
Todd Bertuzzi, Brent Johnson and Felix Potvin were also considered. Unjustly, no mention of Dougie.

Well,it's simple, those players were on fire, their teams were on fire while Dougie was just a tad under their production.Don't get me wrong,he has been great, but just not as great as these players.
