I don't know guys. Maybe Savage won't find it too comfortable in Phoenix. I don't know why, but I think this guy might find himself in Toronto come the beginning of next year. Here's why:
During the off-season, Shane Corson calls up his old, disgruntled buddy, and says, "... why don't you drop by the house on your way to Sudbury ... Darcy will throw some steaks on the BBQ and we'll have some suds ... talk about old times (which might include the cons of being in Montreal)"
Then of course Savage signs with Toronto, taking slightly less than what he would have otherwise. At the press conference you hear him say, " ... I'm fulfilling a life long dream in playing for the Leafs ..." Where have we heard this scenario before?
Anyway, it's just supposition again. But the scenario is likely given the guy grew up in Sudbury. A 4-hour drive north of Toronto and he's home, the kids are with Grampa, yadda, yadda, yadda ...
Hard to say, but it could happen. Cheers.

Boy do I remember Corson saying that!! I don't want a Corson clone in Toronto, which means I don't want Savage.

Neither do I; it'd reportedly cost the Habs another draft choice.
Pam did you hear about the comments Sutter made on Nabakov after the loss to the Habs. he said that the problem with the Sharks was the goaltending and that the guy had let in 2 bad goals. Hope the kid has a thick skin. His GAA average is so so but his save % is about 8th with goalies who play a lot. Not too shabby. Any opinions on this?

When, and not if,Savage does go to T.O. it would mean that T.O got Renberg and Savage for Berezin. O' too have deep pockets. The last two summers the Laughs have been players in the UFA as they think they smell the Cup. Thing is that's all they'll ever do while the Boys will be drinking from it. Can you imagine what the Habs could do if they had the Laughs money. Fortunately for us in T.O. money and brains are mutually exclusive.

I'd love to see Brian in TO, they'd get to spend more money on another ex-Hab who's overrated in Ontario, and I just don't see Brian as a player who'll do much on a serious contender - same as Reichel, Hoglund, etc.
By always wanting to look like a contender, TO ensures that they'll never really be one. That works for me :-)

Sutter is an idiot. He is ruining Marleau,he ruined Friesen,he is ruining Koroliuk,he is making Sellane look like a mediocre player, same thing for Nolan. That team could score 250 goals per year if they had a coach who knew what style to play with his team.
