I just heard Pat Burns say on CKAC that Big Bird is staying with NJ as a consultant until his deal is over.

I remember the Habs bringing in Coco Lemaire to show Houle the ropes but, Coco was still under contract with the Devils at the time.
As it turned out Houle actually did learn a few things from Lemaire, but it was still way too little, way too late. Lemaire flew the coup as soon as he got a sniff at a head coaching job leaving Houle to run the ship by himself.
That said, I have to quote Mrs.4um when she pointed out that Houle hadn't developed a clear vision for the future. I have to agree with her. Even though Lemaire entered the picture though the draft choices improved, Houle's quick-fix solutions still left lots to be desired.
However, coming full circle on you, I think if the opportunity were there, the Devils would let him go. But an opportunity worthy of Robinson leaving would have to be a GM or coaching vacancy in Montreal. I can't see Andre Savard and his visions for the club's future taking a hike. That sort of narrows down the opportunities for Larry. Cheers la!
