One-adam twelve, one-adam twelve...
I was just wondering how reality fared up with your great statistical analysis of the calander. I like how you break down the schedule all the time, and I am interested in knowing how our boys fared.
Over this last brutal stretch, the 17 of 22 away game stretch, Montreal came out with 20 out of possible 44 points. Below .500, and certainly not great, but it could have been much, much worse. What were your calculations on what it would take to remain in the hunt and all that?
I know that Montreal is of course definetely still in the playoff race, but I was just curious to see how your statistical analysis is holding up against "the real world". I ask because coaches will often break down the season into 5 game stretches, looking at the schedule and saying "we should get 6 points here, 4 points there, 8 points here" and so on. Which is sort of what you were doing.
How did we do compared to how you thought we needed to do, and whats the next little test for our boys?

I've lost 2 of these long posts so far and, like you, did not bother to try to organize my thoughts and spend another 30-40 minutes to put it all together again. It's our loss, seeing as we will not get to read your insights, but I do understand where you're coming from...
As for me, I hope I remember next time to write it in MS Word, save it there, then cut and paste into here to see if it fits...
Well, take care and looking forward to your next post!
CO, Can anything be done about this limit, as some of us long-winded fellows are in a bit of a jam? Remember some of us need 3000+ words to say the same thing you do in about 30 words... :-)

I am really sorry that you lost your work. Happened to me on Sunday morning. Three hours and 1500 words and POOF It is amazing how many languages I can swear in. Dog had to cover her ears with her paws and put her tail between her legs in fright. Ohh, I don’t have a dog, it must have been the wife……. You know what I do now, I write the posts in Word or equivalent word processor and then copy and paste it and add the "garnishings". That way, even if Spiro’s gremlins eat the work, you can repost it. If it pops up twice, you can ask me or one of the moderators to delete the double post. To bad, I had the cold compresses and Visiene ready for the eyes! What if I send you the secretary with the long, long legs and…….. To WhyteKnight63, if you have high speed internet, open 3 or 4 windows of the message page, cut and paste approximatly 700/800 words and then post them one behind the other. Look what I did with GNicks work. (Important Drafting Research). I hope that this helps.
BTW,your posts are too freaken long, keeps every one too busy from reading BadCompanies and my freaken long posts.

Before I started reading this site, I couldn't read, write or understand Earthling!!! And now, look at me... I can compose 3000 words of almost understandable gibberish :-) Seriously HA, if it wasn't for all the teaching of guys like you and BC and CO and DIS and all of you, I'd probably still be mired in one-liners on other boards :-( I do admit that, at times, my posts are long... They never start off like that, they just take on a life on their own. Maybe you know the feeling??? Anyhow HA, I did notice and read your (Gnick's) post and that's what gave me the idea... Thanks for the suggestion. One last point to all posters, I think I owe you all an apology for posting such long posts that it may detract you from reading more important posts, like HA's and BC's... ;-) Keep up the good work HA, BC and all of you and looking forward to reading all your posts (long and short)...

I ran into the same problem with my long Nabokov post. I got it back by using the forward arrow on the top of my Browser. I then pasted the text back in with just part of the post, then posted it, then pasted it again and cut out the first part and posted the second half. It sounds like a lot of work but it really wasn't. It was just as easy as having it in word and copying and pasting it in. Maybe it was easier because I didn't have to copy and paste as much as I would have using word. Now whenever I think my post may be too long, I copy the text in the post and if it is too long I haven't lost my text.
