Ok...
...here's something that's been in the back of my mind for a while now.
The HABS organization are presently turning almost every young centers we had in the system into wingers (Bulis, Ribeiro, Hossa, Kilger, Chouinard) in order to be albe to play everybody since there is no room at center... Won't that come back and haunt us at some point... Especially when you consider that the next wave of quality prospects (Perezhogin, Balej, Plakanec, Milroy) has zero centers...
Comments? Feelings? wo-wo-wooooo feeeeeeelings...

i say move markov and descôteaux back up to the wing and reinstate hossa and chouinard [two fair-sized guys] as centres. bulis and ribeiro totally lack faceoff skills, leave 'em on the wings.

As I have always said, moving a defenceman up unto the wing is a lot like filming you and your significant other in an, um, "initmate" moment. While at first it seems like a good idea, fun and sexy, in reality it doesn't really work, its kind of embarrassing and at times, just downright sickening. As for the center problem, I wouldn't worry too much about it. So far moving Bulis, Hossa, Ribeiro and to a lesser extent Chouinard to the wings has been a smashing success. Would you prefer to have, for example, Bulis develope into an outstanding left winger, or a mediocre center? If it does become a problem, our newly found superstar wingers can always then be traded for superstar centers. Mediocre centers can only be traded for, well, mediocre wingers. If Andre Savard and company feel that Bulis, Ribeiro, Hossa and Chouinard have a greater chance at being impact players on the wings, then I will trust their judgement. So far it has been an unqualified success. Let the player become the best he can be, and then worry about positional depth afterwards. No point in wasting their potential playing center if they can be much, much more on the wings, now is there?

You can also flip players around somewhat, once they can play as wingers, then you figure out if they can get the job done at center as well. It's mighty tough for a rookie to do a decent job at center, after all.
