A certain Brownlee from the Edmonton Sun made a list of the teams he THINKS are in the running for Comrie.
He mentioned the Habs are could be offering Ribeiro but Low would want something more...
It's never quite clear if he's just letting his imagination do the work or if he actually heard Ribeiro's name through the branches...
Doesn't make much sense to me...
But this is something I'm making up:
Chicago lost Zhamnov for 6 weeks at least + Dazé has back problems again. Maybe an extra-forward would help ? Perreault or Audette? à<br> Don't you think the Caps could use Dykhuis?

Comrie is a nice player and all but I feel he's a bit overvalued at this point and he really wouldn't address our lack of size problem in the middle. That being said, I do believe he's worth more than Ribeiro because he proved more at the NHL level. All things being equal this deal would favor us... but... As our #1 center Ribs has 3gs/5pts in 4 games. Though I don't think he will maintain that pace, he is showing that once given decent ice time and linesmate, he can be a big offensive contributor. Mikey could be THE key to our lack of offensive production. I'd be reluctant to trade him at this point. I wouldn't do the deal even if at this point it seems to favor us. Dykhuis in Washington...you bet. Or in Pittsburgh, Chacago, Nashville, Columbus, etc... I can't believe NOBODY could use the guy...

Hawks GM said he wouldn't make a trade and would let the kids replace Zhamnov for now.
Ribs for Comrie is interesting. Like Doc, I feel Comrie is a tad overated but he's still very young and proven...

Lack of size is not hurting us right now, but wait until midseason...
Ribs is the center that we should be keeping. We will keep him for longer and have him cheaper than we will ever have Comrie. If Ribs has a point a game year, who is going to miss comrie? And, if Ribs continues to succeed, it is only going to help Koivu.
This move is only a sideways one. Getting a point a game with Zednick on his wing would be great, if we can just find someone to put on Koivu's who isnt Audette.
As for Dykhuis, Im not sure. Hes not young anymore, and has played his way off the Habs. THE HABS! If he isnt better than the Cube, or Hainsey, I dont know what he can do for anyone else, regardless of their situation. If he is moved then we will eat some of his salary. Ditto Audette. Ditto Perrault. Ditto, Ditto, Ditto.

I would do this in a second! Ribs is coming into his own (finally) but he is still a little soft...ok, a lot soft. Comrie on the other hand, may not be big, but he does have a bit of a mean streak. Plus he can put up points too.
Yes sir...in a second!
