A playoff team. It look kile the Habs will be on the bubble when it comes to the post-season. Tough decisions will need to be made. The first one that comes to mind is how many games will Jeff Hackett play from now on. Can the Habs continue to play him in an effort to show case him as possible trade bait. Every point is presious entering the stretch drive. His play has been spotty to put it mildly, and opportunities are a wasting. If Hackett plays well from this point forward his value will increase, if not playoff position will be compramised. Theo is clearly the guy and Garon is waiting in the wings, or should Garon remain in the minors to get more playing time? Should the Habs pick some of Hackett's salary to make a trade more plauseable? Another desturbing trend is oppontents are scoring way too many goals on the road (NYI 6, Edmonton 7, FLA 7). Now onto the Brian Savage saga. The longer you wait to move him the more opportunity for him to be injured around the trade-deadline. Should the Habs take less than fair value for him, so as to not loss him at seasons end for nothing. I believe it is time to cut our losses, and get a something. A lot of you may disagree with this viewpoint, but his value is clearly not what it once was because of injuries and inconsistent play.
