Is it just me, or does anyone else think this kid possesses all kinds of offensive skill? He looked great on both of the first two goals last night.
Ribeiro looks like he's here to stay as well. What terrific moves this guy has!
I vote for trying to trade Hackett and Savage before the deadline; in order to improve our lineup, so we can make a legitimate run at a playoff spot. I say keep Gilmour though, at least, until we know if we're going to make it to the playoffs, or not.

Right now he's playing with two pretty good NHLers in Andreas Dackell and Joe Juneau. This line can check just about any other line in the league right now. I'd like to think part of his recent success is due to the right chemistry with his linemates. Hopefully Therrien won't break up that line for any reason.
Still, he's doing well for the team when they really need it the most. Here's to hoping he can remain healthy and playing well. Cheers.

Actually, I like that line of Juneau-Dackell-Bulis. It's great for defensive purposes and has offensive potential. I sure hope Therrien finds lines that work together, then KEEP them together.
Doesn't that trade of Linden-Zubrus and a 2nd (traded to TB) for Zednik-Bulis and a 1st (Perezhogin) look good today?
Sorry for this short contribution but I was writing a somewhat longer-winded reply to the Atlanta thread and my PC or Netscape froze up and I lost it all. Had to reboot. I'm all written out now...

I was listening to the Team 990 in the fall, before the season started, and they had Andre Savard on for an interview. They were asking him the usual questions, namely, where's the offence going to come from? Savard went out of his way to name Jan Bulis as a guy he felt was capable of stepping it up, and pointed out that he had scouted way back when he was a junior, and that he had always liked him.
So there. Good call by Andre Savard.
As for "the trade", I would still prefer to have Danius Zubrus on the team, instead of the 1st round pick (Perezhoughin). Not saying Perezhoughin is going to be a bust, or that Zubrus is definetely going to be better, but I have always liked Zubrus. Before the Capitals game their play-by-play announcer said Zubrus had been the best two-way player on the Capitals in the last couple of monthes, and the The Hockey News, in their Grading NHLers issue, said that Zubrus was turning into a two-way force (or something like that anyways). We always forget just how young Zubrus is - he's actually younger than both Bulis and Zednik.
Oh well, still a good trade for us.

Don't get me wrong BC, I was one of the people who hated to lose Zubrus in that deal. I wish we could have sent them Savage instead... Unfortunately, we had to give up Zubrus, but I am happy about the return we got on the trade, which is more than I can say about most trades in the last 15 years or so...

Bulis is good exemple of great player management. The kid was heading nowhere pretty fast, a darn shame for a guy with such great hockey tools. His move to the wing and to the 3rd line literally saved him (and us). His speed, grind and good shot are at much better use on the wing then as a center where his playmaking and faceoff ability were the problems. On a checking line, there is less pressure on him to provide offense and he can round up his game nicely this year while benefiting from Juneau's playmaking skills to get some points on the board. The best thing is: while many would have been disgruntled by being demoted from scoring line to checking line, he's actually happy about his assignment. He's learning, he's producing, he's gaining confidence and he's happy. When a prospect is there, you gotta be happy. I don't necessarely want to disagree with BC (yeah, right... ) and I've been advocating for lineup stability for some time and though having such a talented kid on a 3rd line is a great luxury and a sign of "real depth", I see him getting back on offensive duty at some point.

A few nights ago when I listened to the Habs Bulis sounded pretty good. Hackett would be a good backup goalie in Toronto so they could have a more rested Cujo going into the Playoffs. Some Leafs fans (notice I said some and not me) would like Savage. Maybe the Habs and Leafs could work something out. I doubt it would ever happen but I just couldn't resist.
