www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=134236The new-look Los Angeles Kings will not include defenceman Stephane Quintal, as the 16-year NHL veteran has announced his retirement from hockey.Acquired from Montreal in 2004, Quintal collected three goals and five assists in 73 games with the Canadiens in the 2003-2004 campaign. He appeared in four playoff contests before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. Quintal said in a statement that he wished to spend more time with his family and lived out his childhood dream playing for the Canadiens. A native of Boucherville, Quebec, the 36-year-old Quintal was selected 14th overall by Boston in 1987.

He played for four of the original six plus two others. A very good career for a good guy. I'm amazed at the number of ex-hockey players who didn't exactly put in 40 hour weeks for 50 weeks a year that now will spend more family time. Good luck to a good guy.
Stephane; a piece of advice. Try to avoid taking the $7M for five years that John Ferguson JR. may soon offer you!
