Konowalchuck is player I always liked, he brings tons of of heart, energy and leadership and brings it every shifts. But you're right, the difference between Battaglia and Konowalchuck isn't so high to warrant adding a first rouder to the mix...
Still PL is on a hunt for a Stanley cup this year not in 3 or 4 and this move makes his team immediately better.

Why did Lacroix trade for Battaglia in the first place? Just because he proved he could push around a few Hab smurfs in the 2002 playoffs? He certainly didn't accomplish much in Colorado.

This trade just proves that Lacroix really messed up on the initial Battaglia deal... Vrbata is going to be a great player, and I'd be hesitant to trade him from my team for Battaglia, Konowalchuk and the prospect. |
