A series of polls like this is admittedly going on at HF, but I thought it would be interesting to see how the list would be different here. I'm going to set them up, but want some input on the polling method.
I think we should consider only the time that the players played as a Hab. We're not talking about career accomplishments outside of Montreal (I expect this in particular will come to play when Patrick Roy's name comes up), but only the time in Montreal.
You can use whatever criteria you want, but I want this to be a lively debate.. each poll will be up for 3 days (negotiable) so we can debate amongst ourselves. My concern is that with a normal poll, people will vote immediately without reading any arguments.
The other alternative is to conduct this by secret ballot (PM to me) with a deadline. That way, people can read the arguments and vote seperately.
Also (last option I swear) instead of doing it one-by-one, we could do it three at a time. Each voter PMs three players in order. They get assigned weighted votes (3 for #1, 2 for #2, 1 for #3) and I post the result of the vote adding the scores up.. then we move onto the next three.
The players to add to the next poll would also be voted upon.
Anyway, post your thoughts on the process (or if someone like this was done before.. put me in my place) and maybe we can get this going next week!
