In the french papers this morning it was written that Gainey has spent some time in Philly. If Gainey is looking for size and scoring then maybe we could work out a deal for Michal Handzus. He's 6'5, a center, 26 years old, and scored 23 goals last season. They only have two defensemen under 30 years old. Philly and Montreal do have a history of trading with one another, but Philly usually ends up laughing in the end.

Handzus is big but pretty soft. But man his size would be awesome to have down the middle. or maybe Doc faxed him and he wants Chouinard back.. ;D

The Habs have 5 Ds under 30: Bouillon, Souray, Markov, Hainsey, and Komisarek. I doubt whether the Flyers would be interested in Bouillon and I should hope that the rest are off limits. Philly can have any of the over-30 crowd if they want. I hope they'd like to have Dykhuis back.

Maybe it's that Keith Primeau rumour resurfacing it's ugly head.
While a guy like Primeau would address our size issue, his salary ($5M+) and his age (31) wouldn't be a good fit at all.
Anyways, with the Flyers playing so well I would be surprised if Clarke would want to shake things up by trading a Primeau or Handzus. Both of these players are a huge part of Hitchrooster's system.

Maybe he's taking a look at Gagné.

Handzus is a nice player. He's good at both ends. Michal has been a runner-up for the Selke. He's not a beast, but he isn't exactly shy. He's making $1.533 million this year. After that I don't know. He has 9 points in 11 games thus far.
I'm afraid we'd have to part with a young blueliner to get him. It's what Philly is going to want. Personally, young studs on the blueline are harder to find. Handzus is nice, but this team kind find something just as good that won't sacrifice our future as much. Of the lot, I'd be more inclined to move Souray, but still I'd rather keep him.
Primeau is a different story. It seems to me there is a cloud hovering over this guy, and has been whereever he's been. He's big, talented, and mean. Those are all attributes we could use for sure. The salary is the kick in the teeth though. $5 million per is a lot of money for Keith. I think Chris Gratton could do the job Primeau does (or close enough). He'd do it for half as much too.
