I've been hearing a few rumours about him and it seems he could be quite interesting. But first, I'd like to mention that I don't believe him as an alternative to Ribeiro but more to Juneau. We all know Stefan is filled with talent, he's a big center, very good defensively and with lots of speed. His problem is consitency and he's often invisible a la Perreualt. On one hand, we have too much of that on our current team, on the other we lack size, talent and speed down the middle. He wouldn't take either Koivu's or Ribeiro's spot but his upside would first line center currently playing on the third line. I don't think it would take that much to get him, if I'm not mistaken Savard is out indefinetly and they also need a scoring winger(maybe a D too?). The only real problem for this acquisition would be the part where we pay a big part of the salary we give. Of course, this is just speculating and there's practically no chance of seeing it happen, but I'd like to know which 3rd line centers with size are available.
The ones we've taked about until now are:
Svitov Primeau Roslton

Sounds like a younger version of Bulis.

I'd say he has a lot more offensive talent but its very well put. Bulis is a high intensity player so they differ in that category as well. I just imagine Stefan would be a great player to developp within our organization just like we did with Zednik and Bulis, he is still very young and we could use a big 3rd line center with speed, strength and offensive upside.
EDIT: He could very well be like Jokinen, he shows similar stats and a change of scenery might be needed just like Ollie, he doesn't seem to fit very well in Atlanta.

He also reminds me of Jokinen before Jokinen got to FLA. Top pick, big guy, has dissapointed, etc But Stefan has had quite a few concussions so far in his career. I would be very hesitant to overpay for him.

Hasn't he had a problem with concussions?

You're right. He had a serious concussion the year he was drafted and some say his play has never been the same since then.
Cheers

Mike Ricci. He's a solid two-way guy, has experience and grit. His age and contract are similar to Perreault. I think he'd be a nice upgrade to Juneau. SJ are also looking to go younger so he could be had.

I'd think Stefan if he goes anywhere will be in a package to Edmonton for Mike Comrie.
