once again..welcome aboard are there many Habs fans in hte NWT? Since there are so many people that end up here from all over the country, you get quite a mix of allegiances to sports teams. The Habs have a good following and we can see the weekly games on SRC, and on RDS and other channels for those with a dish. Many of the older hockey fans grew up here when all you could get on TV was CBC, so they saw lots of Habs games growing up. The Oilers have a strong core from all the transplanted Albertans (Edmonton is the closest NHL city, so one that everyone has to travel through if heading out somewhere south).

Was I supposed to do this? The idea behind this is to promote a friendly atmosphere. It's optional, but, by doing this you may find that other people are in your area and may want to join you for a game or a beer. This is the way I found out that Viper and Bob are in my area. We have gone to dinner and Hamilton games together.

I wondered if anyone still read this thread! haha... That's cool though. I think everyone knows I'm in Montreal. Was a huge Stephane Richer fan, also a big Fleury and Richter fan. I like Sundstrom on the Habs. Don't really have a 'favourite player' anymore, seems like something more for kids. I follow the jersey. Hopes and dreams? That both teams make a simultaneous return to prominence and develop an intense rivalry with many heated playoff series, all won by New York. ;D

Favorite Hab: Saku Koivu Favorite Non-Hab: Mario All time Favorite Hab: Pat Roy All time Favorite player: Pat Roy Changes you like to see right NOW: Rid ourselves of Mckay, Chow, the Donald, Travesty and Yanic. Future Changes: Keep Komisarek and Hossa in the lineup for good. Gradually bringing in the rookies.. Perezhogin, Higgins, Hainsey, etc. Don't bring them in just for the sake of bringing them in. Make sure they're ready for it.
Hope and Dream: Habs beating the Canucks in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals at GM Place. Nothing would be sweeter.

Hmm... I just noticed this thread! Can you tell I'm stalling on finishing the Brisebois report? This week for sure, I promise! Name: Mike Age: 25 (for a couple 'more weeks, anyway) Gender: Monkey Location: The beautiful borough of Saint-Hubert in the wonderful megacity of Longueuil Occupation: IT Favourite Hab: Koivu (duh-h) Favourite Non-Hab: Yzerman All time Favourite Hab: Tough question! Um, Rocket Richard; Larry Robinson amongst those I've seen All time Favourite player: See Favourite Habs (although Bobby Orr was amazing, I hear) Changes you like to see right NOW: Increase goal size by about 3-4%. Remove two-line offside rule, leave red-line for icing. Start to call no-touch icing. Police the game properly, especially obstruction and stick-related offences. Limit size of goalie equipment. Full minor penalties (2 minutes) to be served as major penalties are fully served now. Future Changes: Increase rink size. Some other ideas. Hope and Dream: Habs to win the cup (this is an annual thing). To one day quit working for someone and finally get down to writing as a career.

Name: Dave Age: 42 Occupation: Writer Location: Newmarket, Ontario Favourite Habs: Theodore and Koivu, with Komisarek creeping up Favourite non-Hab: no such thing, really, but if pressed I'd say Yzerman All time favourite Hab: Guy! Guy! Guy! Patrick Roy had a chance, but the way he left ended it for me. Changes I'd like to see: Most of them are happening - solid management and a young, potent defence on the way. Some help for Saku in the form of a big scoring winger would be nice. Secret Shame: I'm a (gulp) Leaf season ticket holder ! Before I'm kicked out of this forum, let me explain. First, I married into the tickets. Second, this way I get to go to all the Hab games. Third, I can fleece Leaf fans who'll give me twice what the tickets are worth.

Well Addict, the truth is that writing is really a second career for me, after 15 years developing real estate, which was great money but I hated every second of it.
Like many writers, most of whom are hopeless dreamers, I think I have the Great Canadian Novel in me, which I am currently writing. I have also written a kid's book, which is being offered to publishers at the moment. Unfortunately, because I have kids of my own who have this annoying habit of having to EAT, I still have to pay bills. To do that, I write advertising copy and have a proofreading service for companies that otherwise would send out mindless drivel. Of course, after I tinker with it, it's still mindless drivel, just grammatically sound.

"See Dopey run, see Dopey run from Mistress Wanda" That was an excerpt from yet to be published masterpiece, Mistress Wanda and the Seven Dwarfs.~~~~~~~~~~ Bah writing, people think it’s so easy. Painting a little picture with words is tough enough, painting a masterpiece in words is a gift that few posses.

So who's gonna stop us?....the English? Hah! Brazil's just a bunch of hackers and Germany is nothing since Muller retired. How about us (Croatia), like the last time we played in Korea/Japan? ;D of course, it didn't help us much as we didn't go through to the 1/8 finals but we still hold the bragging rights. R.
