Crazy first period. Houston jump out to an early 2-0 lead with two goals in a 9 second stretch. Dogs have come back to tie it thanks to Boyd and Carle (on the PP).
2-2 after one. Still nothing decided in this crazy series!!

By the sounds of the second intermission on CHAM 820, the Aeros had a 3-2 lead as well...and now it's 3-3 after 2.

Looks as if the Dogs are going to lose 4-3 on a controversial goal with 1:13 to go.
McIntyre had it covered and an Aero came in skates first and pushed it in.
BS.....no video replay in the AHL.
Now, it's speculated that an Aero put his hand on the puck in the crease with time running out.
Again....no call.
Getting ripped off here.
And it's over.
But, like the Habs, not a ton of pressure in the 3rd period. Looked as if they were sitting back waiting for a break. OT looked certain.
There'll be some aftermath on this one.

Dogs' announcer says, "Makes you sick to your stomach, doesn't it?", after the 4-3 goal.

I saw a post on another board that both Dawes and Boyd are KHL bound. I hope is doesn't happen.
Has anybody heard that?

Tough loss. I was hoping to take in a Calder Cup final game. I wouldn't be shocked if Dawes and Boyd are gone. They probably feel they're NHL-worthy and are stuck in the A. If the KHL offers a decent enough pay cheque I can see them going there.

Tough one, but what a gutsy comeback from a team that consistently seemed up against tough opponents this offseason (and many would argue more "talented" teams), but kept finding ways to win. The Two Randy's did a heck of a job with the lads this season. Here is the post-mortem article in the Spectator. Note the second last line...good on you Ryan and Nigel. Classy move. www.thespec.com/sports/bulldogs/article/537153--controversial-goal-ends-dogs-valiant-run

You play your whole year, defying the odds, playing your heart out....and a bush-league goal like that is allowed. BTW....the ref wasn't Don, but Terry Koharski, Don's brother. Runs in the family, it appears. Game Sheet

Gutsy effort, no matter how you want to look at this organisation, it's certainly laden with character top to bottom.

Cunneyworth and Ladouceur made a great job this year. I guess Cunneyworth - a good friend of Martin - will be his side kick behind the Habs' bench next season.
As for players, I don't expect many to jump at NHL level, in Montreal or elsewhere.
White and maybe Palushaj could make it. On D, Carle is NHL caliber and will play at NHL level but not for Montreal.

TSN was reporting that at least three teams are interested in Muller's services. If he bolts we'll lose another very valuable piece of the team. I don't know what Cunneyworth brings to the table, but if Kirk does leave he'll definitely have some big, respectable shoes to fill. I'm getting this impression about Carle as well. It's unfortunate, but I think he's becoming a casualty of the business of hockey more than anything else. Too bad really. He really should be in the NHL now. Cheers.
