UberCranky will be slightly less Cranky (if McCarron can make the team). The Habs must be projecting ahead on this kid. It's certainly off the board at #25.

He's not a sculpted figure, which suggests his size is completely natural. He's 18. With some conditioning, and Murray or Hunter will hammer conditioning, he can in turn work on his first step some. He's by no means slow. A Boyle type may be a 'safe' pick, but he certainly fills a need.

I'm worried for the safety of the Hab's in the locker room. Drafting a guy this big can endanger the lives of a lot of smurfs....

It really isn't off the board as Bob Mackenzie just explained, there's not much difference in the quality of prospects betweenn pick 20-45. The fact that we got the biggest player in the draft that can skate well, and plays a VERY physical game can only be seen as a good thing for this team imo. 3rd line or whatever.

I don't know the breakdown on his minutes as fighting majors are much better than a whack of minors and game misconducts. Hopefully, he's smacking a lot of guys. He's even big enough to take on Chara, if Z hasn't retired by then.

Which mean he is a big bone, massive kid that can build into a real 250 lb mountain. The upside of course that he likes to hurt so no need to teach him that.

With each spurt, you almost have to relearn things. Beyond the size, I'm most please with where he'll be playing next. He's going to learn a lot from Murray.

The fact he likes to hurt, not the Komisarek comparison.

I cracked up at his interview. I can see it now.....he goes to the bench with a guy hanging under his arm....."what do I do with him when he's unconscious boss?"
For ONCE, if he makes it, we wont have to make excuses for lack of size.
More please.....

The upside of course that he likes to hurt so no need to teach him that. But , can he skate at an NHL level? John Leclair wasn't a great skater. He had a powerful stride, but he was hardly quick. He got from one end to the other efficiently enough. I'm not comparing one player to the other. Just saying. Scouting says he's not fast, but skates well for his size. Not a quick first step, but that's a lot of beef to get moving.

So, of the guys we were hoping to land, which ones are still available? Was Ian McCoshen one of them? Adam Erne, JT Compher, and RYan Hartman are all still available. As is Zykov, of course.

As the woman told me in my failed career as a gigolo....size matters.
