Boys deserved better fate after that period, hated the call on Weber.

Shot clock was misleading. Scoring chances were pretty even and man is our lack of finish still brutally evident.

Price lost his stick just before that goal. Didn't see what happened...but he might've been able to swat the puck away from the post before Rakell knocked it in.

Sorry, but the Habs dominated that period, Mattias. You're right the shots on net are misleading I was surprised to see Anaheim had 10, would have swore they had less.

DD and Shaw with lots of zone time, but no close chances.

Unfortunate we couldn't capitalize in the first with our strong play, the ducks have now found their legs and are slowly taking control.

Price keeping the damage at 1.

Price usually gets those with his blocker.
2-0.
EDIT--that Fowler puck may have been tipped by Chucky's stick.

When it was still 1-0, Radulov was stopped on a breakaway, and Mitchell's pass to Gallagher was too hard on a 2-on-1.

Carr with an ill-timed trip 200 feet from our net.

Oh, this is a joke. Carr's taken down in front of the net, his loose stick trips a Duck and HE gets the penalty.
EDIT: Wow. DIVE.

Price robs Perry with 14 seconds to go.
Now we're getting a hooking call...Emelin.

Carey with a last-nano-second save to keep it at 2-0.

This is painful to watch. Anaheim's a .500 team and they're having their way.

Taking a macro view rather than a micro view, doesn't the pattern with this Habs team read - "get off to hot start, then cool off and count on Price"? They got off to that hot start to pile up the points and are now cooling off. They got off to a hot start tonight and are cooling off. I've seen that in a few recent games. Good first period and if they don't pile up a big lead, they start looking very ordinary. Heck, Anaheim's not even that good this year.
I can see why Berg might have been going after Fowler. I like his game.

Ducks seem to be playing a "heavier" game...

Ducks turn the puck over a lot and Gibson cannot control rebounds.

Nothing you can complain about other than their finish.

Galchenyuk-Radulov-Byron had the best scoring chances this period and yet Desharnais is constantly out there.

Not a shot on that PP.
Not even sustained zone pressure.

When your own goalie has to make saves when you're on the PP, something's really wrong. They killed their own momentum.

Still 2:00 to go.

Shaw takes a hooking call.
That's fairly weak...
One last chance...as Vermette goes off for a highstick.

Shaw's angry, but that's a not a good penalty.

San Jose's not going to be easier.
