Olofsson pops another goal today. Good effort one on one, including not quitting on he play to get the final shot off. It was also the GWG!

Nice assist by Ylonen today. Good patience/vision to feed the trailer. His third point in his last two games.

Suzuki with two more goals tonight, including the GWG. He now has 10 goals.
Primeau (and Harris) win the battle of the prospects, 3-2 against Poehling and tough St Cloud State. Poehling held pointless against his future WJC and hopefully NHL teammate.
Brook with a key goal in a comeback win.

Holy mackerel, that Suzuki has a good wrist shot. #37 in white.

And now for something completely different...Brook’s goal last night was with him playing forward on that shift. #2 in white. He was also the third star of the game.

Sportsnet announced its 2018-19 CHL broadcast schedule and there are 13 games this season that will feature a total of 7 of our 8 CHL based prospects. That is pretty decent coverage. Of course, there will also be other ways to see our prospects on "national" TV. TSN will cover the WJC which will feature a number of our top prospects and TSN also has been showing NCAA games the last number of years. When those broadcast schedules (and rosters in the case of WJC) come out, I will update on this thread later on.
For now, here are the games on the various Sportsnet platforms (the actual stations vary a bit from game to game, so will try and post a reminder leading up to the game or else just go old school and consult your local listings):
Monday Nov 5 - 8:00 pm MT Russia @ WHL (Josh Brook, Scott Walford, Alexander Romanov)
Tuesday Nov 6 - 8:00 pm MT Russia @ WHL (Josh Brook, Scott Walford, Alexander Romanov)
Thursday Nov 8 - 5:00 pm MT Russia @ OHL (Nick Suzuki, Cam Hillis, Alexander Romanov)
Monday Nov 12 – 5:00 pm MT Russia @ OHL (Nick Suzuki, Cam Hillis, Alexander Romanov)
Tuesday Nov 13 – 5:00 pm MT Russia @ QMJHL (Joel Teasdale, Alexander Romanov)
Thursday Nov 15 – 5:00 pm MT Russia @ QMJHL (Joel Teasdale, Alexander Romanov)
Saturday Nov 17 – 1:30 pm MT London @ Guelph (Cam Hillis)
Saturday Nov 24 – 1:30 pm MT Lethbridge @ Moose Jaw (Josh Brook)
Saturday Dec 1 – 1:30 pm MT Kingston @ Oshawa (Allan McShane)
Thursday Jan 24 – 8:30 pm MT Prince Albert @ Vancouver (Cole Fonstad)
Saturday Jan 26 – 1:30 pm MT Oshawa @ Ottawa (Allan McShane)
Saturday Feb 23 – 1:30 pm MT Regina @ Moose Jaw (Josh Brook)
Saturday Mar 9 – 1:30 pm MT Oshawa @ Ottawa (Allan McShane)

I watch the games on the internet. Finding the feed and getting it clear is like putting steel wool on the rabbit ears and tuning the Indian snow, horizontal and vertical hold.

A few little statistical factoids about our OHL guys:
Suzuki - is 4th amongst OHL skaters with 0.69 expected goals per game.
Hillis - is 8th amongst OHL forwards with at least 100 faceoff tries with a 58.8% winning percentage.
McShane - leads all OHL forwards with at least 100 faceoffs with a 63.8% winning percentage.

This heatmap sure shows that Suzuki favours the right side. If that centre thing does not work out, he sure looks like he could easily be an effective right winger.

Interesting that it's not his off wing. Even when you know it's coming, that wrist shot is lethal.

What happened to Hunter Shinkaruk? Not scoring or progressing. no reports of drugs, family interference, attitude or holdout. he worked hard as a junior but after three teams has dropped off the face of the earth. Cant management attempt to develop him?

He definitely has fallen a long way from his draft rankings.

I just added Alexander Romanov's name to the six Canada-Russia games in the broadcast list above since it looks like he has been confirmed for the roster coming over. Not sure if he plays all games or if they rotate some of the players, but at least it will be a chance to see him play against top CHL players. I saw some of his U18 games this past year, but have not watched any CSKA games yet.
This is also good news as it means he is on the radar screen for Russia for the WJC.

More CAN-RUS super series news, we will have Habs' prospects as two of the three CHL team captains for the event that starts out west next Monday. 6 of our prospects (including Romanov for Russia) will be on display over the six games. Good times for us prospect followers!!

This Suzuki kid seems okay! One goal (GWG) and two helpers last night. Check out his release on that wrister goal. The kid gets that hard shot off quickly. #37 in red.

Ryan Poehling with two goals last night. One was a nice tip in, the second was an empty netter while short handed, sealing the win for St Cloud State.
Cam Hillis scored his third goal last night. He is starting to find the scoresheet more now after a slow start points wise.
Phelix Martineau, who is on an AHL deal, had three assists in the ECHL last night. I expect his top end is just a possible AHLer, but still a good night for him.

A bit of a forgotten prospect, the Habs signed Hayden Verbeek, the little speedster from the SSM Greyhounds as a free agent last season. He got in one game with the Rocket so far, but was assigned to the ECHL to get some games in. In his first ECHL game last night, he had an assist. It was on a game tying goal in the last minute of play. He is #17 in the dark jerseys.

Ouch. And he apparently thought a roster spot was all but his before camp. At least McCarron seems to have brought his lunch pail and expects to work and learn, but Nikita might be looking at the KHL within 2 years. This kid still has some growing up to do, or maybe he just doesn't have the work ethic to make it - moreso since I think if he ever sticks it'll be in a 2-way, Michael Frolik-type role and not as a pure scoring winger. Just imagine if he'd been a Tarasenko or another #1 scoring winger, how much better this team would be.

It's also possible he was told that there are multiple scouts in the stands, so it's better to call it a day if he's not quite 100% Still, it's a shame - he has only 14 days in the AHL, he needs to play as much as possible in that timespan.

Brook with two more assists last night. With the Oilers returning Bouchard to London, Team Canada’s RHD looks very strong for the WJC...Bouchard, Brook, Dobson, etc.

Freshman Jordan Harris is turning heads amongst Hab prospect watchers. I have attached a short article from David St Louis and I also reference an Athletic article from Mitch Brown. In Mitch’s article, he talks about how Harris has been the most positive surprise of prospects, mainly due to Harris’ great skating and mobility. Both authors do point out Harris is really raw, but that is to be expected of a guy who has jumped straight from high school hockey to a top four D NCAA role. It is also important to point out that Harris is playing on his weak side at Northeastern, as he is a LHD playing mainly on the right side. www.habseyesontheprize.com/2018/11/4/18060136/jordan-harris-northeastern-university-canadiens-defence-prospect-frozen-frames-video-analysis
