Remember too that a lot of those draft picks are mid and late rounders. The odds of them converting into NHL players are quite low, but you still draft guys you think have a chance and see how they develop while you retain their rights.
Every team does this and every team does not sign all their drafted prospects.
Without league average data, 26% actually seems pretty decent to me. We have had a lot of picks the last few years, so not all of those guys can get signed.

If every player drafted made the league, they'd have to expand to 100 teams and the quality would drop like Galileo from the Tower of Pisa. Simple math. Only so many guys will make it. You just never know from which round. Tell Luc Robitaille, Mark Stone, Pavel Datsyuk and Andre Markov they weren't good enough because they were drafted late.

Harris one of many players going the USA's summer camp as well. Hopefully our guys get some games in at the Summer Showcase.
