Gallant was poached, but I don't think he's bilingual. We have to retain the good ones in that category. Gallant's a very, very good coach. His teams play at a very high pace and seem to be able to continue it throughout the game. Last year could have been a one off and I expected them to drop to a low level playoff team, but instead, they're in 13th spot despite missing their best defenseman for the first quarter of the season and despite Fleury having an average season. It's not goaltending and now with Stone, they're on the charts with a bullet. I still think much of the success we had in 2012/13 and 13/14 was because Gallant was there to buffer Therrien. Saw the game vs the Canucks the other day which finished 3-0 for Vegas. That's as flattering a 3-0 score for Vancouver as you'll ever see. Yeah, the Canucks aren't at full strength, but they were never even in the game, it was that dominating. Markstrom had a .936 save percentage on 48 shots. Vancouver only had 19 shots on Fleury. With Stone in the line-up, not only is that line with Stastny and Pacioretty difficult to contain, it attracts the other team's best defenders, so Marchessault, Karlsson and Smith are having a field day with the second tier guys. They've now joined the Jets, Preds and Sharks as favourites in the West, IMO.

Carolina leading Boston 2-0 about halfway through the 2nd. Carolina wearing the Hartford jerseys & Jack E0dwards still whining that Doug Hamilton is wearing #19, a number that was worn by John McKenzie in the WHA days & subsequently retired.
The guy's play never merited a jersey retirement so Edwards should just shut up about this.

There's a lot of things Jerk Edwards should shut up about. It's unfortunate, because he's a pretty good play by play guy, but the homer comments he makes are pathetic. If only we could stage a debate between he and Don Cherry. Hopefully, it would come to blows and both would end up on the disabled list.

I love those Hartford Jersey's. The logo was perfect. Too bad they moved to Carolina.

Yeah, I like those too. The Hartford logo is definitely experiencing a renaissance, one of my son's little hockey buddies got a Whalers sweater for Christmas, though it is primarily gray, which seems weird.
Jack Edwards is such a tool. I don't know if this is true, but last year someone at work told me that Edwards was actually a Hartford fan before he became a rabid Bruins homer.
I only saw the highlights, but it is a relief to see Carolina drop a point. Aho is flat out elite and he plans on cashing in if Carolina hopes to have him around long-term. If Nylander is getting $7 per on a six year deal laden with July 1 bonuses, one can only imagine what Aho's camp values him at.

What must Columbus management be thinking. They go all in on making the playoffs. Keep Bobrovsky & Panarin & trade for Duchene, Dzingel & McQuaid. How does the team respond? With two straight losses by a combined score of 9-2. It's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all

Big home and away coming up tonight and Saturday between PIT and CBJ. No three point games please! Yeah, a split with both games going into overtime would be the worst case scenario for us. One team winning both games would probably be best, with the loser heading off into a woes-me tailspin. I guess if I had to chose a team, I would want Pittsburgh to win. If things go sour in Columbus that could lead to a flood of free agents hitting the open market in the summer, under the "who wants to play for a losing team?" theory. Sorry Blue Jacket fans.

I concur completely, BC. Best case scenario is Pittsburgh sweeping the two games in regulation. Murray is playing very well for the Pens. Bobrovsky was great against the sorry Devils, but overall the Russian has not managed to elevate his game since Columbus went all in.

Little jinx worked last night. Leafs-Vancouver was on every SportsNet channel, from coast-to-coast, so I selected Pacific. 2-0 Toronto entering the third. That's usually a slam-dunk. 3-2 OT Canucks.

Speaking of the VAN-TOR game, unfortunately a few disrespectful fans of the Blue and White set off things during the moment of silence for Ted Lindsay. The hockey gods clearly were not impressed...and the Nucks prevailed as CH so describes in his post.

Watching Bruins & Panthers. The always classy Jack Edwards refers to the Sens as a "dumpster fire". I know it's true but I expect more from a pro broadcaster.

Pens blank CBJ 3-0.
Duchene & Dzengel have been busts so far with one goal between them since they came over.

Carolina losing 4-0 at home after 20 minutes. The Jets top six is looking very formidable.

I don't have RDS so I was watching the ticker to find out the score. I saw the Canes game go by:8-1 Jets, and thought very good. Then I saw the Habs result & thought, wait. What? 8-2 to Anaheim.

And the crazy thing is that both coaches hung the starter out to dry. McElhinney and Price each ate ocho pepas.
Montreal really needs Pittsburgh and Nashville to contribute to the cause tonight.

I am once again so pissed with MBs do nothing attitude and Tinkering mentality that I don't want Geoffey getting any playoff revenue. I want them on the outside looking in. All Molson cares about is money... and condos...

Intense stuff in Columbus. The Blue Jackets playing con el cuchillo entre los dientes tonight. I am not optimistic at all about a Penguins victory.
Hopefully, Carolina wilts in the tough environs of Nashville.

Yeah, outside looking in now. And the Habs could be further out (Carolina and Columbus play on Monday) before the Wings come to town.
What worries me is how the team responds after a key road trip was a failure and the immense pressure that comes with being the team chasing.
I think it is going to take 9 wins in 13 games.
