Points have been darn near impossible for Olofsson to come by this season so far, although he did record an assist today. He is doing a lot of little things well, but just cannot seem to convert it into points yet. I have seen a number of highlights of his close misses. Here is a nice looking play where he schools (ex-)Oiler Puljujärvi and crashes the net, to no avail other than some nice hang time.

Some Northeastern news. They played a rare Monday night game last night and came away 3-1 winners. Our very own Jordan Harris scored the GWG on a penalty shot. He now has 2 goals in 3 games, which has already topped his one goal in his entire freshman season last year. Their head coach also mentioned that Struble is getting closer to making a return to the ice and his season/NCAA debut.

Norlinder with an assist today. A nifty little stick-handle and pass to keep the puck moving back deep in his zone leads to a transition goal.

We will have two prospects to watch in the annual Canada-Russia series in November: Fonstad (WHL) and McShane (OHL).

Fonstad made his debut with Everett last night as their top line LW. He ended the night with one goal and two assists and the game's first star. It was his third straight three point game, as his last two games with PA were three pointers as well.
Houde continued his hot hand with his 7th goal of the season, assisted by fellow prospect RHP (Rafaël Harvey-Pinard). Houde has 13 points in 10 games. He has at least one point in 9 of those 10 games and has an eight game point streak going. Houde is #88 and RHP is #11.

Interesting developments in the fights for the rights to a few of our prospects. Both Romanov and Norlinder are still only 19, so more time developing in Europe is not the end of the world, especially if it is in Europe's top two leagues: KHL and SHL. I am sure Berg and crew would much rather have them under their control on this side of the pond though. A fun story to watch this season.

Productive night for the kids. Some of the notables were: 5 point night for Hillis, 2 goals for Caufield, Stapley’s First goal of the season, 2 assists for Fonstad, McShane and Houde. KaBoom.

Lots of highlights to share from last night. First from Sweden, Norlinder scores again. Big shot from the point, not his usual nifty skating and stick work.

RHP aka Captain Pinard got off to a pretty slow start considering how good he looked in camp. He enjoyed a three point night last night. #11 in white.

Guelph has been gutted of talent after their big season last year due to graduations and trading Hawel at the start of the season. Captain Hillis does not have much to work with. Suddenly, he and Gogolev have found some serious chemistry. 5 points on Friday and two more apples last night. #8 in dark red.

A short clip of the 21 year old Russian drafted in the sixth round this past June. He did not play after the first...injured?

Good news for Olofsson and Norlinder. The battle for D spots for the Swedish WJC is tough, with three top notch prospects playing in the AHL. They could be loaned to the team in December giving Norlinder some serious competition, but you have to like his start and how well he is playing so far in the Allsvenskan.

Romanov was the only prospect in action yesterday. He did not get any points, but here is some nice mobility, puck control, and a really nice cross ice pass for a set up that the forward failed to finish.

Interesting. I would imagine that with guys like Bouchard and Ducharme Montreal should have a good handle on what kind of professional potential/ceiling these kids potentially have.
However, and NW probably knows better than I do, there may not be much room for contracts next year as a bunch of kids the Habs drafted in 2018 are working for such consideration.

A pretty quiet night for all prospects not named Hillis. Cam had a four point night, 1 g and 3 a. He is also doing well at the faceoff dot. He was 75% last night and is 58% this season.

Struble is adjusting to NCAA hockey after missing the start of the season with an injury. Harris continues to show good things. I am looking forward to watching a few Northeastern games this year.

Good to hear on Struble. He is one of favorite prospect to follow this year It is a big adjustment from high school hockey to NCAA, as the talent level and team structured play are big changes. Struble has a lot of raw talent and Coach Madigan is a top notch coach, so I too am looking forward to tracking his development this season.
