The move to his old club, Timra, seems to be agreeing with Jacob.

Pitlick has had a very disappointing season so far. He is recently back from a minor injury and scored a pair last night. Let’s hope the gets him going again.

Harris and Struble both had two assists in their win today. Here is a beauty assist by Harris. #2 in red.

Biondi plays on the fourth line an does not a lot of ice time as a freshman, but he did record his first NCAA point today.

Struble showing his strength as he lays out some guy yesterday. Kid needs to get some serious hate-on for anything that wears a Boins or Laffs sweater..... Guhle, Struble, Tuch.....the DingDong Center Bullies roster is getting built up nicely.....

Guhle, Struble, Tuch.....the DingDong Center Bullies roster is getting built up nicely..... Very solid hit. What I like even more: the strength on the puck against 24 year old, 6'-4" 201 lbs Patrick Holway. The same Patrick Holway that tries to take Struble's head off at the 13 second mark. Struble barely reacts to it. Lots to like on that sequence. Thanks for the updates, NWT.

More Struble you ask. A much longer montage of his shifts from Sunday. He can skate and is physical. He knocks a lot of guys down on their a$$!

Those are fun clips to watch. Struble is a strong kid.
Even if one assumes that not all the d-men prospects in the organization are destined to have notable NHL careers, Montreal is really well-stocked on the blueline. I would imagine that Bergevin gets plenty of calls about kids like Romanov, Norlinder, Struble, Harris, and Guhle.
I was looking over McKenzie's early top 20 for 2021 and it certainly appears the upper echelon of the draft is defense. Not that the Habs are going to be picking in the top ten (dear God, that would be a catastrophe given the current expectations). Man, it is going to be tough evaluating kids this year. It would be hard to match the Q's great 2020 crop, though McKenzie has a couple local boys in his top 20. If the Habs are potentially in the 17-22 range, I would certainly endorse a kid like L'Heureux. He is not a giant winger but he is built like a tank and plays a robust game. Bolduc will be a first rounder as well and I suppose, similar to what we say about d-men, you can never have to many centres in the pipeline.
Is Montreal hosting the draft? Or did Bettman kick it down the road to 2022?

Liiga (Finland) back in action after a Corona break. Ylonen is still getting games in until he heads over here and he pots a nice goal.

Although Muskegon got spanked tonight 8-3, Pitlick had a 1+1 night. Here is a real beauty end to end goal. 4 points in last two games since his return from injury vs only 1 point in his first five games. Which version will we continue to see?

Wow, a lot of open ice there. I guess that is what one would classify as taking advantage of the other team's line change.
I hope Pitlick can get on track. Among all the American high school kids that Timmins has picked in the 4th-5th rounds over the last couple of drafts, I actually like him more the others.

Gordin had a three point day with a goal and two assists. I watched the first two periods and saw his assists, but missed the third period in which he scored. Here is his one timer goal. He plays right point on the PP.

Farrell with another goal. Dobes with another win and one in which he yielded only one goal. We can no longer sleep on Jakub. He is off to a heck of a start to his USHL season. Before tonight, he was 6-3-0 with a 1.73 gaa and .927 svg %. He has basically carried the load for Omaha and is near the top of the league in stats for goalies. Weird fact (for me anyway)...I found out I had seen him play (although I had no clue who the heck TT picked when they called his name). He was the Czech goalie who played the US team really tough in the bronze game at the WJAC just over a year ago. Pitlick and Farrell (GWG if I recall) played as well. I watched to see Pitlick on a bigger stage and see all those Chicago Steel and other USHL draft eligible guys. Anyway, Dobes is headed to a good Big 10 program at Ohio State next year. One to keep an eye on for me. He is big and technically strong. Some reports do talk about how he also has an edge. Does not like getting bumped!

Providence took the rematch against Northeastern today in decisive manner, 5-0. Struble had a tough stretch where he took a penalty and they scored on the delayed penalty with the goalie pulled. To add salt to the wound, he levelled a few other guys during the same delayed penalty sequence and went off for another minor. The Friars scored again on that PP as well.
Coach Madigan spoke highly of him.

I gather those comments were made before the game . Young guy. Inconsistent. To be expected. As long as he shows those good to great flashes.

I gather those comments were made before the game . Young guy. Inconsistent. To be expected. As long as he shows those good to great flashes. He plays with an edge. He likes to hit people. It is far easier to coach a young guy on when and how to dial it down at times than to light a fire under a guy that has zero spark. I have nothing official on which to base this, but Team USA WJC may have excluded him in part because his style of play is much better suited to a pro game than one officiated under IIHF standards. He is still a bit raw in places, but as Jim Madigan indicates, he has further development and upside yet to be achieved. He is still just a teenager!

Gordin did get some recent VHL games in, but he was limited to under 5 minutes. Hardly worth it. He flipped back to junior hockey today and had two helpers. The video is blurry, but he is the big left handler who gets the primary assists. That is a bit weird, as the MHL streams it’s games and the quality is really good as I have watched a number of Gordin’s game this year.
