Farrell with a pair of helpers in Chicago’s 4-2 win today. What do you think of Farrell's teammate Coronato? First rounder in July. League MVP so far.

Good to see Hillis working with Gary Roberts in this long offseason. He is a smart hockey player, but the knocks have been his size and his speed. He started working with renowned skating coach Barb Underhill and his skating has improved, but adding strength should also add a bit of explosiveness too. This kid is committed to getting better, so we will see how he looks in the AHL this season.

Northeastern laid a bit of a beat down on UNH yesterday and our two lads both found the back of the net in the win. That was a nice quick release by Harris on the one timer (he has worked on his shot) and a nice goal by Struble streaking down the wing on the delayed penalty. His assist was from generating a rebound on a hard shot on net.

Be interesting to see if Joel can improve him in Laval.

A little Northeastern action on TSN2 tonight. If you have the TSN app (and subscribe to TSN through a cable provider), you can also see Wisconsin with Caufield and Gorniak at 8:00pm ET too. Northeastern will be in tough, as BC is very strong this season. GNick99, yes Struble is showing development growth for sure. He is adapting to the systems play at Northeastern for sure. His strengths are on display. He still is aggressive in attacking the rush to break up plays (a lot like Romanov and Guhle), and he does jump into the play with his mobility. His decision making seems to be an area showing growth. He does occasionally get a bit too aggressive and end up in the box, but that is okay, that keeps guys honest. Physicality is part of his game.

BC is very strong this season. I am very strong every season. You really should get a degree from there. A Commerce degree. BC has a BC from BC. And then move to British Columbia.

Dichow was getting no playing time as the third stringer with his old team. Apparently he will be the backup for his new club.

Scrolling thru his stats noticed they doubled since last year. A lot of good defensemen came out of 2nd round of draft. Getting him and Norlinder in back to back picks

Caufield with a goal and assist after two tonight. Quite the snipe on the PP. He has looked pretty good tonight. Gorniak has been fairly quiet.

Specifically to Bella Coola. BC as in "Bud Country?" That's hilarious... If that happens he should go from being BC to HD... Happy Daze

I know this is a rhetorical question, but... A question for Coah Leaman, and one that was asked a lot by fans during the WJC. He has already scored a few from the half wall or face off circle since his return. Wisconsin actually employs five forwards on their first PP unit. Caufield lines up on the right point, but he will regular move up to the half wall and someone will slide in to take his place. They are in motion a fair bit, so it works and it also plays into his ability to find soft spots on the ice. He also has decent vision, so he is a fairly effective puck distributor from the point. The WJC had him in the low slot position, which we all know is a spot for a big body. CC is the antithesis of that. That person is to screen the goalie and battle for loose pucks. Even using him in the high slot, or bumper spot, would have been better use. He is good at finding open spots against the PK box and he can make quick passes if they then collapse on him or if he cannot set up for a shot. Of course, the half wall spot would have made even more sense. But I am just a simple fan.

Of course, the half wall spot would have made even more sense. But I am just a simple fan. I think that with Kaliyev and Caufield on the same team they had to move one of them away from that traditional shooting spot. While both are natural shooters I think they believed that Caufield was a better player, and thus better able to adapt to another role. Either as a bumper passer, a shot-deflector, or maybe as somebody who knock in loose rebounds. In a way it was a compliment to Caufield. The only other option would have been to sit one of those two snipers and use somebody who was better suited for those slot positions. But that would have meant leaving one of Caufield or Kaliyev off the power play, which seems kind of silly. One is one of the top NTDP scorers of all time, and the other is a 50 goal scorer. The US had the top power play in the tournament, and won gold. So it's hard to argue with their strategy.

Tuch with a nice pickoff and quick pass that lead to their tying goal in the third today. It forced OT and BU won it in OT against UMass.

I wondered why Pitlick was not listed in either the lineup today or as a scratch. I guess he was moved to Tri-City Storm in a trade earlier in the day. He is off to somewhere in Nebraska.
