Was watching the Sens-Jets and Morrisey high sticks Batherson in the face, both refs are starting at it and no call, minutes later a Sen gets tangled up with a jet and penalty Sens... the officiating blows

max needs to pick on someone his own size. Lots of minutes. No wonder he only got one assist.

Saw Rittich playing for the Leafs tonight. Why no quarantine period? Is it because he came from a Canadian team?

Good riddance and great trade by Bbinz..... I'm not going to argue with the Dummy part as it's too often true, but great trade? Anderson has played 7 fewer games than Domi, but Max only has 3 points less than Anderson. And that's while fighting with his coach. As I say with every Bergevin trade....give it time. Patches is averaging a ppg with Vegas and has 21 goals in 40 games. Nick and Tatar have 52 points between them in a total of 79 games. That trade looked like a steal a couple of years ago (as Berg's trades often do) and then not so much a few years later. My take? Both teams won in that trade and that's the way it should be. BTW, Patches has scored some clutch goals this year, something he wasn't that good at while in Montreal. I do recall, though, that he often had a lot of game winners, even if it didn't seem like it.

I think the Jack Campbell bubble has burst. After allowing 8 goals against Ottawa and Montreal, he is pulled after just 14 minutes tonight; allowing 3 goals in 3 minutes.
When I tuned in it was 1-0 For Toronto & they had a 1:11 5 on 3 coming up. Keefe caled a timeout to strategize but it didnt work. The Jets killed it off and scored 3 goals in the next 3:07. First period ended 3-1 Jets.

If I were Keefe, I would have rested him after the 8th or 9th game where you could see he was shaky.

Minnesota is an interesting story. I think they made the right call agreeing to go out West along with St. Louis (Dallas lobbied in the wrong direction in my opinion). But even if you set aside that issue, one really has to give credit to Billy Guerin and Dean Evason. That trade for Fiala was pure gold. Talbot is a solid signing. And whoever picked Kaprizov looks like a genuis right now. Plus, slow developing kids like Erikson-Ek, Greenway, and Sturm appear solid.

Chuck Fletcher (currently with Philly, I think) was the GM when Minny drafted Kaprizov. That 2015 draft is going to go down in history as a great one. Tons of good players, including guys like Carlo, Aho, Blackwood, Cernak, Hintz, Greenway, Andersson, and Dunn, all picked in the second round. Our picks that year?....Juulsen at 26 and then Vejdemo at 87. Not worth mentioning any of the other 3 picks. Best draft in ages and we have 5 picks and no second rounder. So many errors. Beauvillers was chosen 2 picks after Juulsen, Aho 9 picks later, Carlo 11 picks later. Tjhat eyar was a miss for sure but it would have been nice to have more than 5 picks. Berg must have wanted D-men. And Beauvilliers was playing in Shawinigan. That's a local kid we really missed out on.

Best draft in ages and we have 5 picks and no second rounder. So many errors. You'd rather we didn't trade for Petry ? Course not, but we didn't replace that 2nd rounder or add any other choices. It wasn't a specific criticism of one move but it would have been nice to have a lot of picks in a great draft year is basically what I'm saying. As a GM, my goal would be to always have more than my usual allotment of picks. One can't easily project which draft year is going to be great, but if you have more picks and better picks every year, it doesn't matter. To do that you have to be smart enough to move your declining players just before they begin their decline. It's a bit of a gamble of course, but then playing it safe just ensures you have an asset that isn't good enough and wont get you anything back. Petry wasn't as good then as he is now, but that was a pretty solid group of top 3 Dmen, PK, Markov and Petry. We had a good enough defense then, but our centre position was very weak.
