Pitlick had an assist, his first NCAA point.
Dobeš and Vrbetic both picked up wins.
Defenders Guhle and Sobolev both picked up assists.
Here are Trudeau and Simoneau connecting on his goal.

One of the more interesting components to Xhekaj’s game is his toughness and willingness to engage. He definitely can be drawn into taking penalties. It is easier to get a guy to tone down aggressiveness rather than teach a kid to be tougher. Pick his spots.

Looking back, this was the one of Gordin’s three goals last week that I did not show a highlight for as I could not find one until now. The goal is highlight worthy as a very good one timer from distance.

Simoneau and Sobolev both with an assist last night.
Simoneau was also named the first star in the 4-1 Islanders win. He now moved past Joshua Roy into third place in Q scoring. He is also second in the league in assists.
For Sobolev, it was his fourth assist of the season, but the third game in a row with an assist. He said part of his motivation on playing in the OHL was to be able to develop his offensive game more than he would be allowed to in Russia. I doubt that is ever going to be a huge part of his game, but nice to see him get on the scoresheet a bit now.

Some pretty nice games in the NCAA last night for the lads.
The star was Sean Farrell with two more goals including the GWG. He now has five goals in his first three NCAA games.
Harris with a wonderful assist.
Gorniak scores a goal going head to head against Pitlick, who got an assist.
Dobeš with a 33 save effort in a 5-2 win.

And across the CHL last night.
Roy with an end to end goal (his 8th), an assist, and the first star in a 3-2 win against Charlottetown.
Trudeau with an assist in the above game.
Guhle had a goal disallowed and ended up with no points, but had nine shots on net and held the league scoring leader to no points in a big 5-1 PA win.
Vrbetic made 31 saves in a 5-4 win.
Kidney had an assist in his game.

I will update on last night in chunks, as lots went on with our prospects.
In the Q, Kidney lead the way with two goals (one was the GWG) and an assist in a 3-2 Titan win, that snapped a long losing streak. He actually contributed to all of the four goals the Titan scored this weekend. He moved up to 8th in league scoring, two points behind Roy and Simoneau who are tied for second. He was the game’s first star.
Simoneau was also named a first star in the Islanders 4-3 win with a goal and two assists.
Roy added a goal and an assist in Sherbrooke’s come from behind 4-3 win.

In the NCAA, Harris had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 Northeastern win. The goal was a big softie. See below.
Stapley had an assist.
Dobeš great season continues with a 29 save 4-1 win.
All others were held pointless, including the hot hands of Farrell and Biondi.

Great updates, NW. It is nice to see some of the kids driving the bus for their respective teams.
It is very premature for anyone to take a victory lap on Roy, but reasonably one would have to imagine that some GMs around the NHL have made a mental note to themselves to ask their director of amateur scouting why the frick did we draft so and so in the middle rounds of the 2021 draft rather than this Roy kid blossoming in Sherbrooke.

My pleasure folks. I like this stuff!
Only one game tonight, but it did feature three prospects. A rare Monday night NCAA game that was also a Boston area derby between Northeastern and Harvard. A possible Beanpot Tournament preview. Harris, Struble and Farrell were all in action tonight. The Huskies were riding a four game winning streak and #10 ranked Harvard were 4-0 to start their season.
A tight game between two top 20 teams went to OT, where Northeastern won it 2-1. Farrell had an assist on Harvard’s only goal. Harris had a helper on the OT winner. Harris plays a lot, and in pretty well all situations.
I only caught the last half, but the highlight was NE killing off a five minute major in the third with the score 1-1. A huge kill, and Harris was on for a lot of it, and Struble for his fair share too. All three of our prospects actually saw both PP and PK time. Yup, even Farrell. #21 in crimson.

Look at the recovery speed by Guhle on this play. The big guy can move!
Some minor movement for two prospects in Europe. Gordin was traded from the SKA system to Sochi. We shall see at what level he plays for his new team. Olofsson has missed a bit of time with an injury of late, but he has been loaned for a two week period from Timrå to Frölunda. Too bad Norlinder was not back there already, as they could have been teammates for a bit.

Dichow was on the good side of a 4-1 win earlier this week. After a rough start for him and his team, he seems to be settling into things now. He was also named one of the Allsvenskan three goalie stars. Way to go Frederik!

In the NCAA last night, we had another two prospects going head to head with the Big Ten matchup between Minnesota and Ohio State. Minnesota got three past hot Dobeš in the first, but then he shut the door the rest of the way and his team rallied back for the 4-3 win. Dobeš with the win and on the other side, Pitlick had a pair of assists.
Farrell added another assist in a 5-0 Harvard win.
Biondi got back on the scoresheet with a nice one goal and one assist night. Here is his goal, a nice tip in front after going hard to the net.

Just getting folks caught up on Sunday’s action.
A huge four point night for not one, but two prospects. Roy had a goal and three assists and the first star in a 8-1 Sherbrooke rout. Simoneau had four assists in his game.
Trudeau also had an assist in that Charlottetown game and Kidney fired home his 12th goal in a Titan loss. He has quite the sneakily deceptive release.
Xhekaj had a second straight game with a goal and an assist.
Vrbetic pitched a shutout in a North Bay blank sheet win.
