This ended up being the GWG for Gorniak as the Badgers won 4-1. Life after Caufield.

Another big night for Roy in Sherbrooke’s crazy 7-6 win last night. He had two goals and two assists. He now sits tied for Q scoring with 12 points in 6 games. Riley Kidney is tied for fourth with 10 points.

Pretty good night for goalies. Dichow finally got his first Allsvenskan win after starting the season with a rough 0-4. Dobeš did not give up a goal in the half a game he played. Ohio State won 4-3. He came in the second and did not give up a goal to secure his team’s big come from behind win. And finally, North Bay is tired of being last year’s league doormats. A big 7-1 win with Vrbetic getting a 42 save win. Only second star, lol

Here is the nasty slewfoot on Harris from last night. He left the game and did not return. Ugly play all around.

Dobeš collects his first NCAA shutout with a 32 save effort.
Roy stays hot with another goal and two assists. Kidney had an assist.
Farrell played his first NCAA game. It was an exhibition game and he scored one of Harvard’s three goals in their win over Dartmouth.

Biondi now has three points in four games. He has moved up the lineup and is getting more ice time and responsibilities. His skating was very choppy and sluggish, and reports are it has improved this season.
On the other side of the skating spectrum, speedster Pitlick has sat out all four of Minnesota’s NCAA games so far. Their coach says they have a few freshmen and they will be rotating them in the lineup. Hopefully he gets some ice time soon.

And today Vrbetic gives up 6 goals on 26 shots to a strong Barrie team and is pulled in the second.
Kidney and Trudeau went head to head today. Simoneau is injured or it would have been a three prospect game. Kidney with his sixth goal and 13th point, good for third in Q scoring. Trudeau with an assist. Acadie-Bathurst won the game 4-3.
Quite the individual effort and shot by Kidney.

Gordin returned from injury today after missing a month, playing on SKA1946’s top line. He was held pointless in a 7-2 win. Super stud Michkov had a four point game.

And this backhand beauty makes it 3-0.
And finally a primary assist. Final score 6-3.

Ten points in 40 games last year in Russia's version of the AHL. NWT, is that Khimik the KHL or VHL team he's on this year?

Ten points in 40 games last year in Russia's version of the AHL. NWT, is that Khimik the KHL or VHL team he's on this year? Khimik Voskresensk is the VHL (AHL equivalent) affiliate for Spartak Moscow, which is the KHL team. He now has 6 points in 16 VHL games this season as a recently turned 19 year old. He does get decent ice time. A couple of games ago he played just under 23 minutes and has been a 20 minute player the last few. He seems quite lanky out there so might have had a bit of a growth spurt and is still growing into his body. Still raw, but he is not afraid to jump into the play offensively. He could tighten up his D zone coverage a bit though and get a bit nastier. I just noticed this now (and will no doubt jinx it). He has not had a negative +/- game yet this season. I have definitely seen him on the ice when the other guys score (and some plays that were on him), so this surprised me a bit.

Kapanen with a nice burst and even nicer finish for his first career Liiga goal.
He also got an assist on KalPa’s only other goal in a 5-2 loss today. His first Liiga goal and assist. Nice to see him produce at the men’s level. He was quite capable at the junior level, but this is a good challenge for an 18 year old.

Biondi has really upped his game from his freshman season last year. He had a 1+1 night last night to bring his totals to 5 points in 5 games. That was his total production all last season. I really hope to see a game of his soon to see how much his skating has improved, as that is definitely what will hold him back. Reports are that he looks quicker this year, which is good to hear.
Last night’s game also featured the NCAA debut for Pitlick, who suited up for Minnesota for the first time. He had no points in the prospect head to head battle.

Other notables from last night.
Dichow made 27 saves in a 3-1 win. That is his second straight win in Allsvenskan after a rough 0-4 debut.
Roy assisted on the GWG in OT. Sherbrooke won 2-1.
Myšák had an assist in a 8-2 loss.
Xhekaj and Sobolev went head to head. Neither blue liner registered a point, but Sobolev did score in the shootout.
Kidney held without a point. That does not happen much.

A little catch-up from Saturday and Sunday performances. Good news on the Harris injury front as he was back in action on Saturday. He even earned an assist on the GWG and only goal of the game on a 1-0 Northeastern win.
Biondi kept his hot hand going on Saturday too as he netted the GWG in a 2-1 Minnesota-Duluth win. 6 points in 6 games.

Speaking of injuries, Simoneau returns to action this weekend and left an immediate impact. He had a goal and an assist on Saturday and followed up with a goal and two helpers yesterday. A tidy 5 points in his first two games back. Trudeau had two assists in Saturday’s match.
Still in the Q, Kidney had a goal and an assist in yesterday’s 4-3 shootout loss.

And a few others. Vrbetic made 31 saves in a 4-2 win on Saturday. Myšák scored a nice goal to open the scoring in a 4-2 win yesterday. Video attached. Xhekaj had an assist yesterday, and Guhle with one on Saturday.
In Finland, I previously posted about Kapanen’s first Liiga points (1+1) on Saturday. Well, he was back in action on Sunday too, this time for their U20 league team and had an assist.

Kidney’s nice snipe yesterday. That is his seventh already this season. Guess the playmaker can shoot too!
Kidney and Roy now both have 16 points and sit one point back of the Q points leader. It is still early, but nice to see. Simoneau is not too far away either even after missing a number of games due to injury.

He missed on playing at the last U20 tourney for Russia, so hopefully he plays this one. A good chance for the WJC managers to have a look at some players before naming their camp roster for the WJC in December. Russia is also sending a bunch of its top junior players to the Karjela Cup in Finland at the same time.

Farrell with a big four point night last night. Two goals and two assists. I know Bentley is a weak team, but it is still great to see such a crazy collegiate debut for him. 7 points in 2 games.
