And we now know vaccines aren't going to be the hoped for complete solution Good to know I'm finding it's possible to stay very well informed on Twitter, it's just a question of finding the right people to follow. Someone brought up both those new variants and promptly got updated information on both.

Covid...remember that?
I got the bivalent shot 6 hours ago and feel nothing. Not suprised because the other 3 were the same.
Are you guys getting the bivalent shot?
BTW...some insane university developed 80% mortality covid. Why on earth they would do such an insane thing is beyond me. On the other hand, now we know that it can mutate and wipe out 6.4 billion people in a few months. Cripes...

My son came back from a conference in Toronto and he caught it... he only has 3 shots... he's going for the bivalent next week.

I got mine at WalMart and it took 5 minutes end to end. It was Pfizer.
It's 20 hours and zippo side effects. So it's the same reaction as the other 3. Same thing for my wife.

I've had 5 vaccinations and the last one was the one specifically targeted at Omicron. Is that the one referred to as bivalent?
I'm usually on the leading edge of receiving the latest shots because of being immune compromised. My wife was able to get hers yesterday, about 6 weeks after me.
One doesn't really know for sure if I've avoided Omicron entirely. I may have been asymptomatic. I don't think I've contracted it, though as I haven't experienced the symptoms most people get. I'm not a social butterfly either, so I tend to avoid crowded indoor spaces. I've begun wearing a mask in public more often too, to combat the flu as that seems to have made a comeback.

I had my 4th shot at the end of July - the regular booster, not the one that targets the bivalent strain. I've also jut had my flu shot like I have been doing at this time of year for the last 5 years or so.
I'm still wearing a mask in crowded indoor settings and I have noticed that I am far from alone with that decision.

Although we have become lax when it comes to hand sanitizing.

We had our 5th shots a few weeks back ... thought there was a waiting period for the flu shot after receiving our boosters, but the pharmacist gave us both in the same session ... every week, sometimes twice in a week, we hear of another Covid outbreak at one of the hospitals ... local health officials have recommended that Kingston go back to wearing masks in public places, but there aren't a lot of people buying into it ...
Cheers.

Both Mrs Dis and I have five shots each, and she contracted Covid for the second time about 8 days ago ... she had a heavy chest cold for about two days, but Covid has moved on, as she tested negative two days ago ... I tested positive again two days ago, and all I have are stuffy sinuses, which are clear for most of the day; more of a pain in the butt, then a flu ... in each case, I'd like to think that the vaccines are doing their thing, yet not everyone has faith in those same vaccines ... case in point, I stumbled onto this "ban the jab" article ...
Cheers.

These guys are poster boys for birth control.
