Unfortunately, I believe that SportsNet will only get their heads out of their asses for the Calder Cup Final. It's more important to show those wonderful bottom-feeders (AKA the Blue Jays )

It's more important to show those wonderful bottom-feeders (AKA the Blue Jays ) Rogers owns the Jays, not the Dogs. [and that may not be a bad thing] year after year my best friend gets excited about the jays off-season signings, and i always ask him the same question: "how is their starting rotation, and relief pitchers". when he says halliday and not much else i tell him don't get his hopes up. sorry off-track, but this riccardi guy is a joke.

Price again stellar in the victory stopping 40 of 42 shots, and is now 8-4 in the playoffs. what a year this kid has had so far! when is AK back? hopefully this round. I listened to the game and the post-game show on the radio. According to the announcers and even one or two Moose players, the score could have easily been 5 or 6 zip if it wasn't for Price early on. He kept them in the game (they didn't show up until the 15:00 mark of the second period according to Derek Wills) and then they turned it on a bit in the last 5 minutes of the second. They didn't score then (Flaherty apparently made several outstanding saves), but you could sense the momentum beginning to turn. Locke scored a power play goal mid-way through the third that was a bit flukey (off the cross bar and then hit Flaherty in the butt and bounced in the net) and Manlow (he of the 48-game goal scoring drought to start the season) tied it up two and a half minutes later. The Dog's got into big penalty trouble with 5 minutes left, taking back to back minors and playing short handed for four of the last five minutes of regulation. Apparently the OT goal was pretty soft - Manlow said he was just trying to get the puck at the net and didn't really get much on it but it floated past Flaherty. On to the Windy City now. Hamilton played well against the potent Chicago offensive machine, winning 3 of 4 during the season. Price will have to be sharp, as Chicago led the AHL in scoring (331 goals vs. Hamilton's 243) but was 18th in goals against with 253 (Hamilton's 208 against was 5th best). Our defense vs. their offense. Doesn't good defense always beat good offense? Players of note for Chicago include Darren Haydar, who led the league in scoring (41-81-122), Brett Sterling (4th at 55-42-97), Cory Larose (5th at 22-61-83) and Jason Krog (8th at 26-54-80). Their goaltenders split the work load during the regular season: Fred Brathwaite (22-13, 2.74 GAA, 0.902 save %) and Michael Garnett (23-15, 3.03 GAA, 0.899 save %). Garnett has played all but one period in the playoffs, going 8-2, 2.24 GAA, 0.919 save %. One final note, Price is now 8-4, 2.19 GAA and 0.929 save % (3rd best, but 1st for goalies with more than 4 playoff games)

gogie,
your descrption of the OT winner is right. I saw it on Sportscentre today. It was just a wrister from about 40 feet(sorry, can't give you the exact distance a la Harry neale) that sneaked through. Very stoppable.

Flaherty figured it was very stoppable as well. This is from the Winnipeg Free Press:
"Manitoba's record in overtime in these Calder Cup playoffs was 0-3. The first two such losses in the opening round were via shots from outside the blueline and from behind the net.
"That's a disappointment, obviously," Flaherty said after the defeat. "They got back in it and ended up winning the game on a goal that, as a goaltender, any goaltender would want to have back.
"It's in and there's nothing I can do about it now." He said Manlow's shot was aimed high, but fluttered along the ice.
"I was expecting it up in the air and it stayed down," Flaherty said. "It was a bad read, I guess. I'm pretty disappointed." "

This team appears to be on a roll. Things are going well for them. Leadership? I wouldn't sweat much if Bonk is re-signed for next year as Chipchura seems ready made to replace him on that checking line. He's a good penalty killer too and better than average on face-offs, so between Lapierre and Chips, that's a good one-two punch to send out.

Three points on the night for Chipchura. Deuce's are wild actually. Two goals, two assists, plus 2, and a second star. All is irrelevant since his team finished first last night!!

Conspiracy theorists might suggest that Lever got a late night call telling him who to start.
