Any info on Vinzenz Rohrer? Skilled Austrian who plays in Ottawa. He was at the Top Prospects Game too. He is a very good skater as well.

Vancouver drafted Elias Pettersson the defender. Too funny.
Hockey jersey headaches ahead!

A Swede defender, Adam Engstrom. LHD.

He'd better work out. Luneau and Goyette were available, having hometown boys remains important, when they're available you have to consider them strongly. If Beck works out, fair enough, but it's inexcusable to miss out on hometown boys if we aren't making better use of the picks.

I cannot believe they went totally off the map picking Engstrom (most publications said late round pick or undrafted), when a smart skilled hard-working kid like Dumais was there.

It is a huge stretch. Odd. And our track record drafting from Sweden is…..bad. Simon Forsmark was still there. He has more pop.

Are they going to keep all these three picks? I would be shocked.

128 traded to Vegas for their 2023 4th rounder. Figured they would do this at some point.

I would of preferred packaging a few and moved up in the 3rd and 4th. Yup, me too. Same. Then again, in a weird year like now, it's possible some guys who should have made it to the 2nd round are still around, so more picks, even if some are one day left unsigned, is that many more shots at a home run.

Karabela and Vilmanis still around. RHD Salin from Finland too. A few Q guys I like for the last two rounds as well. Gendron. Tourigny. Verreault. Spacek. And my Russian hope Grebyonkin.

They are going to get grilled for not taking local boys. One Franco Ontarian from Rockland won’t be enough. Pick 216 left to get Gendron, Verreault or Tourigny. Legault who plays in the BCHL is another option.

Time will say, of course. But I wish management had seized the day and went for higher ceiling, offensive difference-makers at 26 and 33.

Time will say, of course. But I wish management had seized the day and went for higher ceiling, offensive difference-makers at 26 and 33. I truly believe Mešár fits that description to a tee. He flat out flies out there, has great edges and super puck skills. His league numbers may be below a ppg but he was a 17 year old playing in a mens league. He had 12 points in 7 games with the national U18 team and he is expected to be one of the top six wingers at the WJC as a 18 year old this summer. Very exciting player. Beck is definitely a more 200 foot guy but I think his offense is underrated playing behind Del Bel Belluz and not getting top PP time or Hardie as a linemate. He still was third in team scoring behind those two guys (and Hardie is a 20 yo). Time will tell if his offense flourishes but I liked his game in my viewings. He is a much better skater than DBB and has good skills.
