The leafs PR says kid was offered a safe place to keep the stick until the game ended. Kid said I ain't releasing the stick to anyone and decided to leave the game. Gotta love the kid's spunk. Then again, kid probably feared he'd see Marner using the stick late in the 3rd period

If the Leafs PR spin is true than its not as bad a look for them. I van understand their reluctance to let people have sticks while watching a game.

Mini sticks are ok? Those can do damage as well... if a team sold it it would be fine

Knowing the ACC staff, they would have thrown out Suze stick and replaced it with a broken Matthews stick because that's a better stick to have... in their mind.
