Beaudin gets to represent Canada at the Sprengler Cup this year. Beaudin playing on the big ice will be a treat watch imo. Alway like this tournament that usually gets drowned out by the WJHC every year. He’s playing with familiar names for habs fans: Daniel Carr, David Desharnais, Josh Brook He has gone from a healthy scratch after his trade to a guy that Houle seems to be trusting more and more. Houle tends to trust crusty old dudes more so than young guys, so it is a testament to how well Beaudin is playing right now. He and Barron are doing well. Glad to see the Spengler back again. The atmosphere in that Davos barn is electric. Good experience for Beaudin.

Vets playing bad losing their confidence. Young guys not playing losing their confidence. They playing better the last couple of weeks so I’m hoping they can get some wins strung together. I don’t think they won more than 2 in a row yet lol. They got talent but I think it’s chemistry and goaltending holding them back

Trade and waiver freeze for ECHL today at 5pm. Might be some movement today for Lions. Especially with all the injuries and Beaudin being made available to Spengler 🇨🇦 Not sure if AHL freeze coincides with ECHL or NHL or has their own deadline, not that there is a lot of that type of movement in that league

Team Canada lost their first game today in Spengler Cup. Beaudin was the 7th defender and barely touched the ice unfortunately.

Barron earns his recall with the ongoing injury concerns with Matheson. With Beaudin at the Spengler and Barron called up, the Rocket are without their top pairing for a wee bit.
Beaudin (as the 7th D if the lineup is the same) is back in action for Canada again at the Spengler against host Davos today. Game time is 2:15pm ET on TSN3 and he wears #13 with the team.

Great news!! Barron deserves this recall. Barron and the coaching staff worked hard at rounding out his game, as u can see it as the season as progressed and I hope it shows at the NHL level. Plus he’s a top power play guy in AHL. But 5 rookie defensemen is a lot 😂 As for the Rocket this is big loss. But as per the coarse this creates massive opportunity for the remaining guys Schueneman, Dello, Norlinder, Trudeau, Galipeau and Parker- Jones. These guys will be given more ice time especially the first 4 names

Definitely lots of potential up and down this week for these two this week just to fill in some holes in depleted rosters for both clubs.

Definitely lots of potential up and down this week for these two this week just to fill in some holes in depleted rosters for both clubs. I think you can see the new management’s different approach to using depth. Bergevin would of signed PTOs from other ECHL teams to fill out their AHL team when injuries hit. This new management is a bit more patient giving the guys within their organization a fair chance. Trois-Rivieres Lions don’t have anyone left worth a look at this point😂 I hope this give them a better chance to sign better talent in the offseason if the players think they will get a real path for promotion.

Earlier this year, the Rocket traded a forward and defender for “future considerations”, essentially giving them away for no return so they could get playing time elsewhere when there were lots of healthy bodies around. Sometimes those moves work; sometimes they backfire. Toronto has been the master of the three tier system for a while now. Montreal is just getting started but they will get it there. With all the prospects drafted, there will be a much steadier inflow of new young talent into Laval now. They just need to also sign top tier overagers to AHL/ECHL deals to fill in some holes with 3R that can also be called up to Laval as needed.

Fun couple of periods of hockey so far. Rockets up 5-1. Hard to believe Laval playing without Barron & Beaudin as the defense is moving the puck fast. Forwards are helping out the defense a lot tonight too. Poulin is making some big saves. Hard hits being thrown by both teams. Great game so far

Big 6-3 win for the Rocket tonight. Crunch scored 2 quick goals in the 3rd but Laval eventually settled things down. With Poulin in net no lead feels safe but they did it. Bit of a line brawl with 1:30 left allowing the Rocket to finished on the PP. There was lots of drama in this one. These teams do not like each other. Each game this season been very chippy between these two teams. Some bad blood spilling over from last season playoffs. Rocket are a tiny team and Crunch can out goon them up easy as they got some big mean guys on their team. Rocket doesn’t back down still.

With Beaudin’s Team Canada losing yesterday in Spengler Cup, he should be available in the next couple of days. Not sure where he goes cause with Guhle’s injury(if serious) he may have to go to join Habs in Washington. If he’s not ready then I expect a call up after Laval’s game tonight. Rocket won’t play til Wednesday after tonight so a call up would make sense.
Beaudin or Schueneman would be my guess. Schueneman really picked up his game with Barron and Beaudin unavailable.

That 6-3 win was also memorable for a pair of Rocket who scored their first AHL goals in the game: Galipeau (called up from 3R) and Trudeau (rookie D back from injury) notched their firsts!

RHP has been creating chances with his speed and tenacity. He came close to adding more points but been stopped on multiple breakaway last few weeks. Always getting his stick in good positions to pick off passes. Pure effort guy. According to the coach he seem Picard as the next call up

Lots of grinders not enough skill. Plumbers playing on the big ice usually doesn’t work. Maybe no one wanted to go? I saw the 1st game where beaudin was used sparingly in the 1st period and even less in the 2nd&3rd. I only saw the 3rd in yesterday’s game and he played more and even some PP time.

Another crazy game in Laval. Ended in a 5-1 victory but unfortunately they lost.Another defenseman to injury. Dello, who is a important dman for Houle, got a slapshot to his face and didn’t return. 1st period was back and forth but Laval took over in the last 40 minutes. Going into the 3rd Laval was up 2-1 and then things went out of control for theCrunch . Stupid penalty after stupid penalty. Laval got 2-5on3 which they scored on. Poulin tried for a empty net goal but missed. Schueneman Joked by offering him tape at the bench during the next tv timeout 😂
Well earlier in the day good news on the injury front with Simoneau and Schnarr coming back next week but then now they loss Dello. Unbelievable injury luck.

The Rocket could be getting some reinforcements back soon, mainly from the injury ward. Primeau, Simoneau and Schnarr all sound close to a return to action. In Primeau’s case, the Rocket just reassigned Vrbetic back to 3R so Primeau is likely cleared to play again after getting a fluke head injury while on the bench. The defence also gets a boost as Beaudin is back from the Spengler Cup in Davos, so half the top pairing D should be ready to go soon (the other half is Barron who is still up with the Habs). If they want to make a run for sneaking into a playoff spot, getting healthy and playing some consistent hockey would be big starts. A few more healthy bodies is the first baby step.

The boys enjoyed a big 6-3 win over the visiting Moose last night, to notch their third win in a row. Is that a Laval win streak I see?
Beaudin was back from the Spengler and had an assist, but it was three forwards that really led the way on offense. RHP had a hattrick and added an assist for a four point night, Pitlick assisted on four goals, and Ylönen had a goal and assist to keep his steady production going.

I don't understand why Ylonen hasn't been given a look in Montreal. Richard's been given a chance, without the potential upside that Ylonen has. 27 points in 32 games are good stats for the AHL. He turned 23 in October and we need to know if he's worth keeping.

They really needed a good game like that. They looked good for awhile now but seems to have put things together the last couple of weeks. Especially impressive is they doing it with this roster that’s been ravaged by injury and call ups. I hope this streak is the “real” Rocket team and the first month or so we saw. Rocket added Eric Williams on a PTO which was nice. They really depleted 3R Lions and can’t call anyone up. Lions are struggling icing a full roster and have signed a bunch of PTOs the last couple of days.

Wow….entertaining game again but unfortunately Rocket lose in ot. . Primeau looked rusty but whole team was not sharp defensively. Can’t blame this one on goalie. But man they got some fight. Bezille and RHP taking team on shoulders and leading them back from down 4-1.
They pick up a point and some chemistry building blocks in this one.

I can’t believe Beaudin is now down with a injury. I guess another PTO signing in the next couple of days with them on a road trip and only 6 defensemen. Getting crazy with these injuries. Just one of those seasons . Rocket completely dominated for half of game but can’t beat Woll. Toronto bounced back with a great 2nd half of game. Laval dominating in shots but the Marlies up 4-2 with 5 minutes left in 3rd now🥲
Edit: they lose 4-2. They played well despite the score. Teasdale, who has been playing great lately, left in final minute with a injured face. Not sure what or how, but it happened in a frenzied battle in front of net and he skated off holding his face as play continued
