Thanks jazzy, for the recap. The Rocket have indeed had more than their share of injuries this year. Np 17. And Rocket are down to 1 goalie now with Primeau in Montreal. Hope it ain’t long term. If not would be nice to see if Desrosiers get a shot in Laval. Interesting fact about the organizational goalie situation. All the goalies under NHL contract are with the Habs right now or on LTIR. If either Monty or Primeau were injured, they would have to scramble to sign one of Vrbetic or Poulin to an NHL deal short term (they are both on AHL deals), in order to call one up to the Habs. With Allen being D2D, this likely is a non issue. But with Allen’s history of recent injury woes being worse than they first appear, it bears noting at least.

The Rocket will have two representatives when they host the All Star Game later this year (assuming these guys are not up with the Habs and/or otherwise unavailable).

Watched the 1st and 2nd periods of last nights Rocket game and it wasn’t very good game. Vrbetic wasn’t very good again and needs a lot of work. He looks tall and awkward in net. Maybe too skinny? Goes down on butterfly way to early and too much making him seem small in net. Team also plays very aggressive offensive game plan so lots of quality chances for the Crunch which leaves goalies out too dry too often. A perfect storm for a bad season. Too bad for this talented team who can score goals at a pretty good rate.
Bezille, Pitlick, RHP and Trudeau stood out too me for positives the last few games. Despite their record I think there is some good growth for the future prospects the last little while. They really could use some bodies back on D and a better goalie.

Trudeau played point on 1st PP in this one and looked pretty sharp. First time getting this kind of power play usage. He clicked alot better then Schueneman imo. Bezille looked great again. So did Pitlick. And Richard looked dangerous again.

I am a bit surprised that Belzile’s Hattie yesterday was his first career AHL hattrick.

Big comeback 3-2 win for Rocket tonight. Came back from a 2-0 deficit. Important 2 points against one of the better teams in the AHL. Poulin is looking pretty sharp last little while. Parker-Jones with a big fight against Dylan McIlrath. After that fight Rocket seemed to find another gear.

Up to this game, Belzile seemed to be the main offensive punch as he had been on a goal scoring tear for a bit. Nice to see some guys contributing in the absence of Pitlick, Ylönen and RHP. With all those injuries in the Habs, I don’t expect reinforcements anytime soon now. Down to bare bones lineups all around.

I find the replacement players have really thrived in the absence of all these call ups and injured players. They looked at all these holes as opportunities. JF Houle has done a great job turning, what looked like a patchwork group into a well oiled machine that doesn’t give up. Young guys like Trudeau, Teasdale, Condotta, Beaudin etc. , who looked like bottom line guys or extras to start season, have stepped up and are probably ahead of development compared to a season where there wouldn’t be this amount of injuries. Not to mention all these ECHL guys that are proving they are AHL talent now. Been a season of opportunities. With saying all that, I expect player movement for Habs next couple of days. Waiver claims most likely. They really are a rock bottom in terms of depth

The latest medical update. Looks like Gignac is close, and Dello and Bowey could be back on D before the All Star break. They definitely need some healthy reinforcements at some point.

Primeau back. Should get some games now. Looks good so far tonight. 1-0 after 2 with Teasdale getting another goal. Edit: They end up losing 2-1 but in OT so they get a point. Primeau looked solid I hope he can get some momentum going

Primeau back. Should get some games now. That was ridiculous, bring him up to sit on the bench... how dumb He just is not yet NHL caliber. I agree with them not playing him. It has not worked out yet and he just got back from injury. The kid is not a strong mentally prepared player, so no sense throwing him in over his head again.

Poor 3R Lions. After Bureau-Blais decided to quit ECHL to go play in the LNAH earlier this week, Vet Dman Brodeur retired tonight mid season. Tough season for them with all the injury issues with Laval and Montreal. Not being recalled might have been a factor in these guys quitting? The losing didn’t help. Life as a ECHLer is not easy either.

By not even giving him a single game, management is signalling this guy isn't in their plans any more. Next year he's waiver-eligible, so if ever it was time to prove he has to be protected somehow, this was it.

He hasn’t played well in the AHL this season. He needs more AHL games especially with Rocket improved play. This is a different Rocket team that started the season and Primeau was injured during this “improved” stretch. And it’s hard to think anyone will claim him to play on their roster NHL roster next season. We need patience with him. Just one game but he looked solid last night. Just give him time imo. Montembeault I think, has bought time for Primeau or whoever is the goalie of the future to develop.

A big 7-4 win last night for the Rocket. Primeau looked great til he let a weak unscreened shot in from blue line then he was hit and miss from that point on. Teasdale is on fire right now. Rocket are in a dogfight for the final playoff spot. Impressive how they clawed their way back considering their start to season. They are fighters. Every time a injury or callup happened to one of their top players someone else starts to lights things up or step in defensively etc.

With the Habs on the ASG break and break week, nice to see them send reinforcements to Laval and it also helps with some cap management as they can keep others on injured list until the end of the break and see who is healthy then. And the team must maintain a minimum roster size which will only change once some of the walking wounded are cleared to play again.

Allows The Rocket to free up some players to send down to 3R who are in bad shape as another player quit to join the LNAH. Joanette joins a long list of players who quit or requested a trade from the Lions. But the lions got Beauregard, Francis, McKay got sent down. I expect a defenseman to be sent down with Dello and Bowey returning by Friday from injury

What's with all the quitting in 3R? Bad coaching, atmosphere, amenities? $500/week pay... I think it’s the money as well. Less travel and more of a part time approach in the LNAH. Gives them time to work on other ventures to supplement their income. Not an easy sell for players in the ECHL.

Tough game to watch last night. Rare to see so many passengers. Primeau wasn’t particularly sharp either. I find he just loses track of puck at times. He needs to find that mental consistency as he can make some great reads at times too and look brilliant. Goalies are a weird creature to get reads on lol. I expected a better outing with the returning Belzile, Ylonen, Dello and Bowey all coming back for this game. Marlies are a great team and take it 4-1 though

Big win for Primeau and the Rocket today. 7-3 final. Primeau looked real good today especially in the 3rd as the ice was tilted towards Lavals net.
